It seems like every year Iowa gets one of their top early commits poached.

I think so also. It's kinda weird that Bama is trying to get this kid along with Bauer apparently. I think CR isn't worried about competition, but like another poster said his head says gumps but heart and family says LSU. Hope momma wins this battle!!

Or he's already a silent to Bama so they aren't worried about scaring cam away with all these ol.

Did I read somewhere that Bama has started to make a strong push for Bauer?

that idiot bama fan that posted for 1 day said they were but i haven't read much anywhere else about it.

Bama will have the full court press on Cam Rob until the ink is dry on the LOI.

it was when i graduated high school...they may have changed admissions standards in the past 6 years but there's no arguing what it was in 06

I chose to go to Alabama because it was actually cheaper than LSU (national merit scholarship that has since been changed to no longer include housing for all 4 years). Started in Fall of 09 after graduating from Brother Martin and will probably finish here with a masters (completely paid for). I would be graduating debt free but I unfortunately had to take one more semester. Also, I should be able to apply the value of TOPS to medical school if/when I choose to go that route saving me more money. If that clears all that up.

As far as recruiting goes, the opinion over at the Alabama Board is that there is a chance we take as many as 8 OL in this class. I assume that is highly dependent on who we would be taking.

It's not that he's take Cam's spot. It's if Cam wants to go to Bama with them going after so many other OL.

do you think that could be an issue for him? Doesnt' seem like a big deal. This kid is a C/G IMO like TBob Hebert.

If Bama is pursuing other OL, the comfort level with CAM may have changed.

I think it is more likely that our comfort level with guys like Humphrey, McMillan, and Carter has changed.

you HAVE to put 5 OL on the field at the same time… if you think the top OT in this cycle fears any other OL, much less a guy that may or may not even play OT, like he does, then i don't know what the frick to tell ya….

your premise would work if the spot that Robinson played had less guys on the field at one time, like QB or RB… but even if they take 8 this class, which they won't, he will still be in the top 5 of those 8 because he's the best of the bunch… Ross Puffandstuff, or whatever, will absolutely not affect Robinson's decision…

nor should ANYONE think we are better off with news that Bama is looking at another OL, as if Bama just decided to cut their losses with one of the best prospects in this cycle...

unless i'm misunderstanding the guy, i believe, red, that he means that Bama takes the Iowa OT, continues after CRob, and just cuts losses with another prospect at a different position….

it hedges their bets vs. losing out on 2 OT's, and just dealing with the loss of another prospect, regardless of where they play…
