School: Saint James HS

City: Saint James

State: LA

Position: BIG WIDE RECEIVERS

Height: 6-3

Weight: 195

Forty: 4.45

VJ: 38

Shut: 4.16

SBJ:

AABG Invite: YES

Offers: LSU, Tulsa

Colleges of Interest:

Biography: Alonzo Lewis (6-3, 200, 4.4, 38 VJ) of Saint James, Louisiana is a real Freak of an athlete. He plays in a Wing-T offense, but he caught 14 passes as a sophomore for 288 yards and four touchdowns. LSU has already offered this kid and he is going to become one of the hottest wide receiver recruits in the country for 2011.
------------------------------------------
Both Lewis and Landry are rated higher than Sylvie in pure combine #'s on Enfingers site. I know it doesn't mean much right now, but the cupboard isn't bare, and there's alot of time left in his recruitment.

i like sylve, but seriously 5-11 speed guys haven't worked out well under miles

yeah, none of those guys have been that good either. i'm not sure if it's a miles problem so much as a player problem.

but we do tend to rely on bigger receivers.

this was my thought exactly.

And as a later poster said dont know if the guys we got just were not that great or our systems just do not favor their success.

Hell, the national champs have a helluva coach and recruiter. Them getting a good one eventually from LA can not be too much of a shock.

LHSAA/State Farm Track & Field Meet - 5/6/2010
Thursday, Classes 1A & 2A
Bernie Moore Track, LSU Campus

Event 43 Boys 100 Meter Dash 1A
============================================================================
CLASS: # 10.34 1985 James Andrews, Kentwood
COMPOSITE: * 10.20 1980 Rod Richardson, Fair Park 4A
Name Year School Finals Wind Points
============================================================================
Finals
1 Taurean Nixon Southern Lab 10.78 2.0 10
2 Bradley Sylve South Plaquemines 10.89 2.0 8

Not that 10.89 is slow, but like most HS athletes, I doubt Sylve's forty time is really 4.43 (unless he was injured). Is Nixon a football player?

Foot surgery= hasn't got his speed back! Miles told him that he had an offer, I think he was on crutches at the time.

As my daddy always told me, don't let the the door hit you in the butt while you are are leaving. and the door only slings one way. He is only a kid. I wish him well. We all know that he is fast. But as St. Nick used to say, I'd rather have a BIG fast guy who can run and catch.

It's not like we don't have 3 QB's that would start at his second choice school....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Remind me again when Starr Jackson became a good QB.

MAYBE HE MEANS PHILLIP SIMS

He did run a 10.60 as a Soph. so he is fast if he can regain his pre-injury speed.
