we will have to see where La'el is drafting

unfortunately, Cam will decide before then

Did Bama "produce" those first rounders or would they have went first round no matter what college they went to?

I know at least 1 was a 3 star.

Collins was a 5 star and is currently a 3rd round projection.

So Bama turns 3 stars into first rounders and LSU turns 5 stars into 3rd rounders.

I guess it's been nice knowing you Cam.

LSU kicks arse at DBs and DL. Bama's niche is RBs, OL, and DBs. Doesn't mean Cam won't choose LSU, but if it's Bama it's because of their results in the draft.

I don't know how you can use Collins' draft projection before his junior year as any sort of argument here.

Especially since he's been at guard. If you are projected in the third round as a guard, you're pretty good.

I bet his stock skyrockets after a full year at left tackle.

I know a head coach that took a QB whose BEST offer was USM and that QB turned into a NFL Hall of Famer.

Let's hire THAT head coach.........wait!

Look I'm not expert here but were those guys first rounders solely because they went to Bama?

The only way that argument has any merit is if you can say those guys won't have went first round had they gone to LSU.

Exactly. Was Joe Barksdale going in the first round at Bama? Would DJ Fluker not have been drafted round 1 at LSU? That's ridiculous.

Chris Faulk was drafted low because he was out his entire Junior year with an injury otherwise he was a talent primed to go round 1. Ciron Black faced injuries that killed his stock. There's nothing inherent about the coaching or program differences between the two schools that supports the notion that Alabama provides a better platform to go round 1 for a linemen. That is utter rubbish.

They have had better talent at the position as of late (minus Faulk whose stock was lessened due to extenuating circumstances) and that is quite apparent. Thus the argument that Bama puts more linemen in higher rounds argument is really not valid. It may be a perception that Robinson harbors, but it would be quite foolish as a premise for his decision.

Why would any high profile high school player who wants to play out of state arranges for a televised announcement instead of committing quietly? Assuming he has respect for his state.

You do realize that bama just hired a new o line coach this year! So is it the crimson that puts people in the nfl or the coaching?

No, I hate when people say shite like that. If he's a first round talent, he'll go in the first round at LSU or Bama. PERIOD

I'm sure the coaches have made their case, but unfortunately for us perception is reality in these things. We could have had a few lower rated (great selling point) guys along with some higher ones go in the first round, but injuries have killed our perception as an OL producer.

LSU has had some shitty luck with O-linemen in the last few years.

They've had some good ones though, that's a fact.

good point about the OL draft results.

overall though, i find it interesting that LSU has about 15 more players on NFL rosters than Alabama, or at least they did the last time i checked. variety of reasons for that...i'm sure.

Chris Faulk is dumb as hell. He would have been the top college tackle this season. In stead he takes bad advice to go pro.
