Yes, you have to be in the transfer portal to play football for another school. His contract forbids him to enter the portal. Meaning the ncaa won’t allow him to play football for another school.

Well given a player will be playing today who did the exact same thing I don’t think that is true

"The NCAA won't allow....." The NCAA has no authority over anything to do with college sports anymore. Nor the guts. At the first whiff of a lawsuit, it runs & hides. What really sucks about all this is that these "agents" do not have to be certified like they do to represent pro players. In the current scene, these outlaws could care less about any "rules", let alone what is best for either the athletes or the schools.

can’t play football for that school

If he can’t have a football scholarship, that’s fine. He’ll get 5M in NIL for his… umm, swimming attributes and will walk on for football.

YES, we give him 10 mil for 2027, and 0 for 2026, but we pay 5 mil up front now as an advance and he walks on.

If he enrolled here and was prohibited from playing, where would jurisdiction be-Washington or Louisiana?

Used to respect Delly but that has changed over the last year or so.

The B1G contract sounds like they are trying to override NCAA rules... and Delly seemed to have gotten that confused on another tweet he made.

Violating a contract with the B1G does not make you ineligible in the SEC.

Mizzou QB is visiting Washington as I type this.

Looks like Washington knows they are fricked.

Non-competes are 100 percent enforceable if done correctly.

Tell me you've never actually seen one through litigation.

They are 99.999% unenforceable and for an entire conference to think they can blanket apply this to student athletes is going to be heavily scrutinized this off-season.

There will be a freaking exodus from B1G next year.

Why should the NCAA pick this incident as an example? These sports writers act as if Demond Williams is the 1st player to ever do something like this as well as the NCAA bending of other “Rules & Bylaws” like granting Diego Pavia getting a 6th year of eligibility & Id bet every dollar Ive got that Chambliss is granted another year right after OM’s run ends tonight.
