Maybe their irrational hate for LSU will be a bigger blessing for college football bc everyone will be motivated to fix this shite finally
The Oregon RB hitting the portal the week of the semifinals should be the bigger story that gets this fixed

Was it a “big moment in college football” when the same thing happened with Xavier Lucas this past season or is it just because it involves LSU and Lane?
This!!

If the shoe was on the other foot and he was trying to transfer from lsu to another school, you would be in an uproar and calling for Washington to be shutdown

This is the correct response to Thamel, which will be followed by crickets.
Was there somebody prior to Curt Flood? How can these supposedly educated men be so disingenuous?

kid may get screwed and not play at lsu or UW

Yep, you won’t see nothing about that though

UW cannot have indentured servants.
Holy hyperbole Batman! WTF are you talking about?! Dudes getting paid over 4 million dollars a year. Lots of arguments can be made regarding this situation, but indentured servitude, my goodness!

This was set into motion a long time ago. You cant stop an avalanche.

UW can continue to exclusively use his name, image and likeness, he'll just be in an LSU uniform. Pay is for NIL, not play. Right?

Im just going to say it and everybody can downvote me to hell, but this has character flaw written all over it. Maybe i'm wrong, I don't know the inner workings or what happened where. Maybe the guy feels like he got duped or taken advantage of somehow, but I feel like these situations have a higher propensity to miss than to hit. Even still, through all of this, LSU doesn't have a QB.

It’s a really weird situation. Something went down between Williams and UW for him to just want to up and leave.
What went down is LSU and Lane offered way more money.

Hyperbole yes. And it clearly made my point.
The analogy has merit. In exchange for players to get to the NFL (and ostensibly a degree (joke, right?)), you have to play for me and only me and you have to take what I just gave you; it is about a position of leverage and bargaining power.
Indentured servitudes had none. Clearly, players have some and are getting more daily. But if you were misled or strongarmed into a deal (you and I do not know the specifics of his UW negotiations, but something clearly was up for him to bail so quickly) and could not break that deal, then yes, that is exactly what indentured servitude was and is in its modern form.

There’s conflict here too because of the agent representing HC and player.
Agent could be trying to “save his arse”
Between this and the hate for LK/LSU, it’ll be nauseating how much we’ll hear about it for the next 8 months

I would say playing at UW is definitely out.
Law has nothing if it doesn't have precedence, and in this case, we happen to have it
And that kid is playing tonight
This incident will either bring about needed changes or become commonplace.

The conflict of interest is not being played up as his agent is his coach’s agent also. Did his agent actually maximize his value or did he simply help his other client out by negotiating a number that worked for the coach?
