and Speedy was worried about drug testing...so he left too.
What the hell are you talking about?

True story...my brother in law will NEVER shut up with how much he hates miles. Everyone has one in their family or friend circle.
It really is baffling. He has done better at LSU then any coach in history. It all comes down to how he talks to the media, that is a fact. I have talked to him in person, totally different guy.
Every single coach has bad screw ups. Miles is held to the worst double standard I have ever seen.

If he had the number 1 class every single year like bama does, he would never lose a game.
People just don't get it. LSU develops talent better then anyone. NFL rosters prove it.
Eta...it's all perrillouxs fault

You still have Famous Winston and that could be enough to lure Dupre.
So you expect Winston to stay four years? Maybe he does, but I doubt it. Dude has Rudoplh and Lane to fight off, and that's just the early guys. Greene come back as well as his TE O'Leary.
Of course he was going to have a great time at FSU. Not only is he in Florida, he was with the golden boy of Tallahassee. Dude probably got in everywhere and partied all day.

If you've ever met LM you'd have to love him. I know he doesn't always come across that way to the media, but Dupree has known him for awhile. That being said, some kids just want to go oos and experience something different. It's not because they're unhappy here or dislike the program. No doubt Lsu puts more kids in the nfl than most colleges at many positions. This year is just different. Were still number 3 and look what went oos, but we also have recruited well oos too.

Well it doesn't help when your OWN fans in state talk about how much LSU sucks, miles sucks etc...
I guarantee you, that plays a part.
Bingo! And how the fan base vilifies current, prospective and former players.

A well connected poster from another site says Speedy was told directly from Sumlin that he would never be drug tested at A&M.

He will be in the nfl. Assuming he makes it that far. If not he can always stay in Texas to find a job.

Which poster?

Yeah, he was promised he wouldn't have to worry about drug testing at A$M...and he was told he would see snaps at QB..and they convinced him that LSU underutilized Russel Shepard...
but Noel Ellis was the biggest pull for him leaving, but the drug test inquiry has apparently been confirmed by our staff. the bottom line is he is a great talent but he might be another "Best there never was"
All this.
This has been discussed on the DL for some time now but this is the first time I've seen someone just lay it all out here on this board.
Sumlin promising no drug testing, A&M using Russell Shepard as an example (they flat out told Speedy he was a Shep clone and convinced him that Les would waste his talents), and Ellis were all huge factors that were used against us.

Also, this recruiting cycle is pissing me off. Don't think I'm coming back here til after signing day.
I keep saying that. But,.... it is like passing a wreck. Just can't keep from looking.

I think there is something to this .... we have better luck with out of state recruits than we do with our own.... that should never happen..

Good luck with Dupre and don't let Bama have him.
Very small chance he goes to Bama.
Its either UCLA, Florida State, or LSU.

Meh, this kind of stuff only surfaces AFTER we don't get recruits.

I love LSU & as a fan, I believe in supporting my team and equally important, refraining from publicly criticism. Unfortunately, LSU has the most negative fan base I've ever seen. I'll never understand why this is true but, it is. This all-too-large segment cannot be satisfied...ever. Again unfortunately, these *fans* are as vocal as they are negative. I wish we could take a clue from other, more supportive, school's fans especially, those with less successful traditional performance. It's a shame that Death Valley, with much increased capacity, can't match the electric atmosphere of days gone by...just imagine what "could" be. And yes, I'm sure the lack of broader support impacts some recruits although, to what degree is debatable.

I knew about this before the UAAG.
