That seems to be what they will need to do, and I don't think it will be a "backup transfer"
They are going to look at upperclassmen looking to start, compete with Van Buren, and take up two years until whomever the 2027 Recruit QB is (Haven, etc), is ready to start

That is a pretty massive swing and a miss considering we put all of our eggs into the Bentley basket….
Hopefully this doesn’t affect our WR class as well. Keys sounded like he felt having a good qb in the same class as him was important to him. And Tennessee has a 5 star qb committed….
Maybe we try to flip someone?

They might kick the tires on some committed QBs, but I don't think they absolutely need 1

Then we would have to sell these WRs we are targeting in this class on MVB. Can we do that? I’m not sure.

Apparently, OU did this kid pretty dirty. Wanted him to move to Oklahoma last year so he would be closer. They did and everything was going great until they decided they wanted Bentley more and told him to not come on visits anymore etc.

His favorite team growing up. Would be like any of us picking LSU regardless of the talent or caliber of team.
ETA: Seems like that never seems to work for LSU, but it does for everybody else.

Yes but we have a history of not being able to close the deal in that particular aspect for whatever reason. Not just this coaching staff either, since the Les miles days really.

First Bryce underwood , now bowe Bentley. I’m bout done with tryna get out of state qbs to come here annoyed with getting led on jus for them to commit elsewhere. The 26 class for LA qbs was weaker but thankfully the 27 class is loaded. Go all in on getting one of those LA kids to stay home. These out of state QB’s keep leaving us at the alter im tired of it lol

The major of the elite players we land grew up LSU fans. That’s why most of the 5 stars we get are in state guys

Hop off that bridge boys. LSU will be just fine; we always seem to be.
Either we double up for 2027 (which I would love-Nuss Jr & ??), or maybe we flip one of the 2026 QBs. Who knows, but we'll be ascending for sure.

Not too worried about this. If Bentley can’t see the talent at WR, RB, and OL set up to make him successful he isn’t sharp enough to be at LSU. He let his emotions and boyhood love decide his college.
There will be plenty of capable QBs clamoring to be part of this program. Pivot to Duckworth he is a take.
