He doesn't appear to be fragile. The back I saw ran tough, hit the hole quickly, and has everything you want in a RB. Your narrative proved to be false.
Well, he fumbled twice in 100 carries. And had a 3rd that a penalty saved. Thats a start.
Carrying 100 times doesn’t prove anything. His size is working against him and historically these guys work best as a complement to a larger back.

Don’t get caught up in the number of carries. I just mean do you really want to run him a lot against a really physical team. Or do you want to use him in a finesse sort of way that’s all. Btw I’m a huge fan of Harlem and hope he stays. We could have lendale white and Reggie bush all over again with Berry/Lacy

Regardless of who is better, both on the same team would be absolutely electrifying. Behind a competent O-line that is.

You are trying hard to not give him credit. The fumbles are what they are - time will tell how big a problem he has with this. He didn't play small. I am not saying he is Derrick Henry, but he didn't show anything that made him look like he can't carry a normal workload. We could both name quite a few small backs that were every down backs. I hope he becomes the blocker that we had with both CEH and Josh Williams.
I hope we get Lacy, but would be fine with Durham and Berry as our main RBs. I know we need depth, but think both these guys will be plenty good in a Kiffin offense.

I think I am being pretty fair. What all should he be getting credit for? His freshman season was just ok. The numbers back that up. I liked some of the flashes I saw but there was somethings that were uninspiring.

He and Durham were about 50 yards apart on the season. Neither had a reasonable chance in the 2025 offense. If Durham is an everyday back, then Berry is, too. I like both and don't think the stats tell the whole story in the offense we just witnessed. I think either can be the #1 back on a good team.
