Make it happen and let's ride! Both of these guys should be plug in plays in the Kiffin/Weiss offense. Think we'd be in good shape with this duo if they can pull it off

Longstreet/Clark combo is what I’ve been wanting for the last 48 hours.
Longstreet and Clark are both ideal Lane Kiffin QB’s. Both have very good athleticism, and great arms. Both are a little raw as players, but then again that’s why we have Kiffin and Weis Jr. I think this scenario is great for LSU. Both have multiple years left. Longstreet 4, and Clark 3. LSU is playing the long game here. Both guys will push each other to be better too. I’m ready for the Longstreet Clark QB battle. I’d also feel great about the backup next year whoever it is.
Longstreet/Clark all the way for me.

Is 2026 a team that is on cusp of playoffs with these two? Setting up for 2027?
Or is this an instant legit chance to playoffs.

LSU will compete for playoffs next year. I think when the dust settles, LSU will field a top 10 team next year. I’m not sure they will be able to win it all.
They likely will be in a position to win it all by year 2.

A healthy Leavitt may compete for playoffs. Longstreet and Clark if forced to start them in ‘26 are development types but we shouldn’t be expecting playoffs with either.

Both could be considered development types, but Longstreet was a huge recruit. He’s already got a year of CFB in him. I’m not counting out Kiffin, Weis Jr. and company to turn Longstreet into a big player Year 1 of Lane’s tenure.
Schedule is brutal, but LSU just needs 10 wins. They have room for 2 mistakes.

No way Clark comes and sits behind a dude that has four years of eligibility, are yall fricking retarded.

Clark has visited LSU, Michigan, and James Madison.
If Clark goes to Michigan he’s sitting behind Underwood.
He can compete for the starting job at LSU.
He will get more money, publicity, and better opportunity, among development at LSU than he will at James Madison.
You sound like the retarded one hoss.

If you want to predict the playoff chances for LSU, I think a more relevant unit to look at would be the OL. LSU could have had the best QB in college football this season...Mendoza or whoever...and it wouldn't have put them in the playoffs. The OL was hideous on run blocking and not good enough on pass blocking either. Another major improvement that needs to be made is on defense. The 4 man pass rush was totally inadequate. LSU had to blitz to ever put pressure on the QB. That is why LSU's defense was not able to get off the field on 3rd and longs as Kelly and Blake Baker both complained about.

Yea, I see Tate Martel, Walker Howard watching this guy, athletic as hell, muscular, somewhat compact build but just never looks comfortable or natural throwing the football. I dunno, just wasn't what I was expecting seeing all the hype and stars. I definitely don't mind it as a developmental piece but he doesn't look sec ready to me. Been wrong plenty, I probably am again. Theres just such limited recent film out there on him its all just speculative. This staff knows what they are doing.

Until he considers what Chambliss just did as the projected 2nd string for Lane coming into the year. Compete, get coached up by proven coaches, and be ready when your number is called. Not at all the doom scenario you’re painting.

Throw in the juco kid. Let em battle
Posted on 1/10/26 at 8:47 pm to tigerbait2019
Yes indeed, hope we land both.
Posted on 1/10/26 at 8:49 pm to tigerbait2019
At this point I would be fine with that.

Clark isn't some top ranked player that will only take a starting job somewhere. He just played at Elon...a chance to start or at least battle for it at LSU in a Kiffin offense should be enticing to him.

I'm ready for this. Has Leavitt been eliminated yet?
