I heard the other day this might happen. Reynolds was hired away from maybe Cincy where he was the pitching coach and was pretty much the pitching coach in waiting as Frank was close to retirement.
He will be some sort of assistant pitching coach in SF, won’t be the main guy. He probably has a little more instant cred than Vitello since his son was a big leaguer for a while.

Interesting I wonder if they’ll hang on to the Morse kid from Cali now that both Tony and Anderson are gone.

That's pretty bad for Tenn to wait until after signing day to announce Anderson was leaving, that deal had to have been done when Elander was named head coach.

You should probably stop talking out of your arse when you have no fricking clue what's going on.

Starting to look like Major Osbolt from Walters State. Mid 90s RHP. Going into his redshirt freshman season. Pitched in the appalachian league over the summer.

Your guess is as good as mine. I don’t ask.

Good. I hope they're gutted by the news. But, I'm sure these kids and their families weren't as surprised as you are.

Here are Osbolt's stats from the Appy League this summer: LINK
He's listed on last year's Walters St roster as a RHP/INF, so there was at least some two-way potential going into college. That's a prospect category we've really been high on lately. Ty Floyd, Zac Cowan, Casan Evans, Jensen Hirschkorn all also fit the MIF/RHP mold. It's a shorthand way of looking for guys that are athletic enough to make adjustments and add pitches.
Osbolt profiles as a potential starter, he should be one this year at Walters State. It looks like they used the Appy League to bulk up his innings after redshirting. I haven't found any injury reasons for the redshirt, but that stuff is very hard to find. PG had him clocked at 85 MPH in high school and now he's at 95 after a year and change in JUCO.
Walters State is a pretty big time JUCO program in East Tennessee, they're routinely competing in Grand Junction and send a lot of guys to Tennessee and UNC.

Doesn't hurt that they can be good at PFPs

He is not a mid year enrollee. He will either be in the 2026 or 2027 class. I assume 2026 class, but he does have another year of JUCO eligibility. And we've seen it happen both way. Harden and Reaves spent that extra year in JUCO, Plog came over after his freshman year.
