You can definitely see the difference from just a couple months ago.
John Eades from WAFB asked Jay about any injuries and he didn't say anyone by name. Said nothing would keep anyone from doing anything going forward, so take that for what it's worth.

loved his football reference about how the pitching staff is like the oline of the football team
it all starts right there
his comment about injuries seems to at least remove any doubt that Curiel will be ready for the season
he's really proud of the defensive team LSU was in 2025
also, mentioned he's comfortable with Verge as AD

Wish would've been a little more specific with Curiel rumor

Not saying anything is imminent or even that it has anything to do with us, but 2027 LHP Cooper Burti just decommitted from Tennessee after committing there in September. We were on him before and it looks like we're on him a little more now.

Good reporters know when not to prod coaches multiple times with the same inquiries, lest they lose some accessibility should they fail to do so. I think we all know how Jay likes to keep those things quiet.
Not saying that the rumor is accurate or not but it will be kept as quiet as possible from official sources if true.

Jay isn’t exactly transparent when it comes to injuries, lineups and the like.
The chat asked Moscona about Curiel during his Sunday morning podcast. He texted someone during the stream to get an answer. I couldn’t take his constant lip smacking so I turned it off. I doubt he texted Jay, so maybe he got the truth from someone and shared it on the pod.

That’s fair. And that’s Jays prerogative not wanting to divulge injuries but I do wish he’d be more transparent on this one since it’s coming out of fall ball. But I get it. Tactical advantage.

Jay has earned the right to do whatever he wants bubba

It would give us some positive discussion to hold us over until BayTiger13 surfaces with some fall stat compilations. Lord knows tRant needs something constructive to break up all the football madness right now.

New 2029 rankings dropped for the state for PBR. This is the initial PBR rankings for that class as they do not rank 8th graders like PG does. Similar to the 2027 in state class....this class is very strong. Right now the state is really on an every other year in terms of producing talent. The 2031 class is the next big time class in the state.
Top 4, #6 #9 are the names to watch in Terms of LSU.
Zaylon Johnson is one that has huge upside. Already up to 91 on the stalker gun and is very very young for the class. Already up to 190 and has the frame to a lot more muscle. Great glove work but will need to get much faster to play anything other than corner or pitcher at the next level.
Davis and Taylor have been known in the state for a while, Davis is a big time prospect. Already standing 6'1 180 and hit 90 this summer before starting freshman year.
Taylor is kind of the opposite of Zaylon. Old for his class as he will be 16 early next year. Really well put together at 6' 190 and up to 89 at WWBA Freshman worlds.
Dugas is not nearly as big as the others, still under 150 lbs but lots of potential especially if he spends time in the weight room. Already up to 87 this past season in 14u and is an extremely good mover producing a 1.59 laser timed 10 yard. Prolly a middle infielder at next level, lots of pop in the bat and good arm across the diamond.
Parker has a lot of room to grow. Very long and lanky. if he adds weight over the next 2 years, in the range of 30+ lbs....he will be a name that could expload
Talon Sweat is a newcomer to the state. Family moved to LC from Buna Tx and as of now, he is the states top southpaw. At 6' lean and projectable, he is already running it up into the mid to upper 80s with good run. Very projectable. Has a good burst but lacks top end running speed but has has good pop with the bat. Will need to add weight & lots of speed to have a chance to play OF at the next level. Overall the Barbe class is pretty stacked, with 2-3 others to go along with Zaylon and Talon that will end up at D1 schools.
Jack Stokes of Catholic has the tools to be a big time P4 prospect. Already at 6'4" and 210....has the kind of body and natural pop off the bat that screams p4 and is already producing exit velos in the mid 90s. Expect him to be a big time riser in this class and do not be surprised as he ends up as the #1 overall. Still pretty raw in terms of arm and glove but has natural ability to find the barrel combined with his frame will have his phone ringing off the hook come aug of 2027.
I dont know a ton about Jett Hebert except he is extremely fast, pretty physical but is also short, much like his dad, Sam Houston HC Chad Hebert. Has a brother that plays at ULL currently. The Sam Houston Class is full of prospects and joins the loaded 2028 class to forma loaded young team for the broncos that will keep them in the hunt for years to come.
I dont know much about Spillers and nichols but I do know that the West Monroe class the next couple classes is really good and should keep them up at the top of the state the next couple years with stacked 29,30,31 classes

I can do that
I don’t remember the numbers 100% but I’ll try my best to make it accurate

Did y’all see Braswell is trying to be a pitcher? He’s up to 95mph. Don’t know how to post Instagram

That is actually interesting news. Wish him the best.

He pitched sparingly at USC prior to transferring to lsu. This may be his best shot. Good luck to him!
