deuce985: Ouch, man. You really got me. So sorry if I upset your tender sensibilities. You're right: "passing game coordinator" really doesn't have anything to do with helping young quarterbacks, well, pass. Live and learn! This little exchange has been good for me; helps to keep one grounded, I guess. It's actually been a long time since someone called me stupid; I cant remember if it was before I got my Juris Doctor, or after I got my J.D. and before I finished my Philosophiae Doctor? Or was it after my Ph.D.? I can't remember; anyway, it's been a while! Tell you what: from now on, in deference to you acumen, I'll come to you first for anything dealing with either "football" or "manual labor," and you can come to me for "everything else." By the way, has Obama raised the minimum wage yet? I'm here rooting for ya!

This thread has reduced itself to something really sad...Race has nothing to do with talent, leadership, smarts and competency...As long as we attempt to run a dumb version of the spread offense, we will struggle with pro style football players...it may be wise for us to either change the offense to the players you recruit or recruit players who match your scheme...we seem to be doing it on defense...

If I was claiming my brilliance, I would at least make sure my post was air tight. JD and PhD from where, ULM?

Just as your academic acumen does not make you a brilliant poster, a great academic acumen does not make for a great quarterback. And you say that Worley has a 4.1 while Williams has a 3.0. Are they both on a 5 point scale or is Williams on the traditional 4 point scale? If so, the difference in there grades is pretty negligible. People have brought up Andrew Hatch as an example of a “smart” quarterback not succeeding. I’d like to also ask why Duke, Stanford and Vanderbilt are not quarterback powerhouses?
Also, there have been a ton of very successful “dumb” quarterbacks at the college level. Ryan Leaf, Vince Young (NC ring), Terry Bradshaw, Ben Roethlisberger, Marcus Vick, David Green (20 on his Wonderlic out of 50), Derek Anderson (19 on his Wonderlic), Matt Jones (19 on his Wonderlic), Rohan Davey (17 on his Wonderlic), Tee Martin (11 on his Wonderlic, but a NC ring on his finger), Donavan McNabb (14 on his Wonderlic), Antwaan Randle El, Dan Marino and Jim Kelly (both 15 on their Wonderlic), Tim Tebow (22 on his Wonderlic and two NC rings) and Colt McCoy (25 on his Wonderlic).

Williams doesn't have a cannon but has a good arm.Good enough for college football.Comparable to Jefferson's arm.

You speak of people being stupid, yet you chafe when chastised for making an egregious blunder. Then you try to deflect your mistake by blustering about the degrees that clearly failed to prepare you to discuss football intelligently.
I am not impressed with your paper.
GFY.

Soooooo Marquise is really good and we should do everything we can to get him

Is that a picture of General William Tecumseh Sherman, USA, as your avatar image? Seems I'm not much impressed with you. Not that you're deserving of an explanation, the tirade started when, after stating my strong preference for Justin Worley over Marquise Williams for QB, another poster decided to make it personal. I replied in kind. And I'm not sure if the shorthand "quarterbacks coach" for "Passing Game Coordinator and Wide Receivers' Coach" is all that "egregious" -- especially since Billy Gonzales is the closest thing we have to a quarterbacks coach -- but I most humbly apologize for the error. You know, of course, that wasn't the point of my argument, right? The point was that I think Justin Worley will be a better QB by his senior year of college than will Marquise Williams. I never mentioned race; that was an accusation by another poster. I never attacked anyone until after I was called "stupid" by another posted. It wasn't me who caused the thread to degenerate; you can respond to the PC thugs on this site about that.
I truly don't care if you "like my paper" or not: my [LSU] dissertation is getting published.
So with that said, you too can "GFY." Thanks for your input, though.

So where's the discussion about Marquise Williams? And why is a guy with a P.hd arguing on a fan board?

Good question. I got involved just recently because I thought it'd be fun and maybe learn something about the recruiting process. Bad call on my part. It has broken up the monotony, though: in academia it's rare that people actually get to tell each other to "go get f&%#ed."

Ok well I will break the cycle and get back to QB talk. What do you guys think about C.J. Uzomah?
Posted on 4/20/10 at 3:06 pm to Flatyger
I like him.He likes Auburn. Will be a guy that commits to the school left after all the guys above him on lists commit.Frazier,Lemay,etc.
Posted on 4/20/10 at 3:07 pm to lsufanva
I like Lemay a lot. I wish he wasn't so bent on Georgia.
Posted on 4/20/10 at 3:12 pm to Flatyger
Yup, C.J. has already visited Auburn twice this month. Maybe Driskell committing to Florida created a huge opening for him? I know most of the AU fans were dreaming about Driskell....
Posted on 4/20/10 at 7:10 pm to ConfederateTiger
While talk Sunday had Georgia moving into the favorite's spot with Lemay, there are strong rumors that Clemson is still the team to beat and a commit could be sooner rather than later.Watch Auburn here also as a sleeper.

Just checked out Williams and Oliver's reels again, and both of these kids have live arms!
