I'm 55, and been an LSU fan in the 2 sports that matter since 1977. That's probably longer than you've been alive.
Most people (hopefully you as well) know the definition of insanity. I, and anyone else with medium or higher intelligence, can see that this coach can't get the job done at LSU.
I believe in Dale's very first game, he beat a top 5 Memphis St team (maybe #1) with a bunch of YMCA rejects on the roster. The very first game I attended as a young Tigah, we beat #1 Kentucky in OT, with all 5 starters fouling out. That game launched my lifelong love of LSU basketball. I was already hooked on LSU football. At least there were signs Dale would be successful.
McMahon is a big boy, making TONS OF CASH. He also works a high profile job. I'm sure he can handle being so APTLY described as a funeral home director. At least until he shows he can win like a precious few coaches in our history have shown. It's doubtful he even reads this board anyway. I'm only offending his defenders which boggles the mind how they even exist.
Wade beat top 5 Michigan in one of his first games. Brady took a roster of guys WORSE than Dale had his first year, and won at heavily favored Florida. Brady relied on scrappy, mediocre JC players his first year. Transfers were a thing, but they had to sit a year before playing. McMahon has shown ZERO positive signs that we are moving in this direction.
I choose to not give a pass to the GROSS MISMANAGEMENT of LSU basketball. Not when the blueprint has been provided by previous schools that have dealt with the weak assed NCAA quickly and decisively.
If most schools didn't cheat, and we were truly one of the rogue outliers (like so many simpletons on this board seem to think), I would be opposed to Wade's actions, and by the way the actions of our football boosters who funded our 2019 national championship team ILLEGALLY under the table. We wanna keep that quiet though, now don't we????
But that's not reality. You can run a clean program or you can win big. But it's IMPOSSIBLE to do both. And I find it laughable that you take Wade's "contrition" during his press conference at NC State at face value.
He's just playing the game (like he HAS to) to get back into good graces with the HYPOCRITICAL media and dummies like you that think: "By golly, he's done gone and reformed himself. It brings a tear to my eye and I wish him the best."
When anyone with functioning brain cells knows he's gritting his teeth through that statement and wondering where the scrunity is on Duke, who several EYBL coaches have told me to my face are THE WORST at illegally paying players and their families over the years, while everyone considers them the model program. It's preposterous.
If you don't already know the story research how Louisiana POY PG Chris Duhon was extracted out of our state by holier than thou Duke in the late 90s. Just one of many players bought by the model program.
You may or may not believe this, but I COMPLETELY understand this is just entertainment. But it's entertainment that's very important to me.
I live a happy life, and I'm asleep 30 seconds after my head hits the pillow. I just want LSU to maintain or improve what we've had in football since Saban took over, and I want our basketball team to be consistently in the top 5 of the SEC in basketball, in the tournament yearly, and making decent runs occasionally.
Our basketball program can be this, we just need the right hire, and to more importantly, stand by his arse through any storms that come our way.

One of the first walk-on additions if anyone is interested. Was with Rosemond at IU:

You’re right, majority of the people here (even the ones on your side), can see how intelligent you are

Ok? Is this where everyone shares their story of why they are LSU fans?

It’s not offending me when you speak like a senile old man. It is hard to take you serious, that’s my point. I would have guessed 75 not 55 because you speak like a fool

Meaningless nonsense again. NIL college =\= past college. Such an ignorant way to compare
The rest of your post is a crazy rant. Everyone would have loved Wade to stay coach. But he, admittedly, was arrogant and did shite wrong. I wish we told the ncaa to pound sand, but we didn’t. This is not the hush hush days where Wade was paying $200kfor a team. $200k doesn’t even get you a backup now.
You clearly cannot see how much basketball has changed and cannot comprehend. You also proved my point again. You loathe McMahon so you won’t root for LSU to win. I think if he goes to the tournament you should ban yourself.

Ya know how to get me on McMahon's side with the quickness BUTTFLUCK?????
Have him perform as well OR BETTER than Wade did at LSU. I would be thrilled as would most tiger fans.
The fact is the other coaches I listed SHOWED SIGNS OF LIFE by beating teams when we had lesser talent. McMahon has shown none of this.
If our administration had balls, we wouldn't even be discussing this now, and more importantly, we would be WINNING.

Curt goes back home. Only LSU transfer still available is Mike Williams.

Is there any talk of Williams returning?
Posted on 5/20/25 at 12:44 pm to LSUFanMizeWay
There’s been nothing at all on him. I expect him to go to a mid-major program and thrive. He showed some flashes his first year here. Hopefully he does well and creates a market for himself next offseason.

I see Bobbett is a 6-2 guard and a native of New Hampshire. Thanks for the info, Tsham.

Some random portal news: Sounds like Will Wade might have whiffed on PJ Haggerty. Kansas state has momentum from some things I’ve seen.
Posted on 5/23/25 at 6:06 pm to tigersham
Wade picked up Darrion Williams yesterday , first team all Big 12 , and may have been the top guy left in portal. Could very well be a preseason top 25 team
Posted on 5/23/25 at 6:15 pm to polarbear6
Oh he’s for sure put together a good team. Wasn’t trying to be negative on him in anyway. Adding Haggerty to the mix there would’ve been scary. They seemed to be the front runners for a while but his agent is trying to milk the process it seems

And of course by “whiffed” you mean moved on to other players after getting Darrion Williams, as is being reported by multiple media outlets.
But “whiffed” definitely sounds worse for Wade, good job. Anything to minimize his success from the McMahon pumpers

He went after him very hard. Haggerty and Williams play different positions. Maybe Haggerty kept upping his price or wanted guarantees, who knows. But he is not going to get a player he really wanted. He missed. He will still have a really good team.

Yes. And then a different high dollar player committed instead.

The money pool is the money pool. You should be very well aware of this concept after your new hero’s limp across the finish line to round out his portal class.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Haggerty had been leaning heavily toward NC State, but with the Wolfpack securing Williams, a move to Raleigh now seems unlikely unless Haggerty is willing to accept a reduced NIL deal. At this point, his next steps remain uncertain.
Your newfound worship of McMahon has completely inhibited you from being capable of having serious discussions about anything remotely related to lsu basketball at this point

What a sick burn.
If we’re talking about misses, McMahon has MISSED THE NCAA TOURNAMENT the last three years.
Posted on 5/24/25 at 7:41 pm to LSUButt
Haggerty seems to be the real loser in this situation, unless Kansas State continues to outbid itself and pays him $3-4 million. But yes Wade wanted him, but sometimes you have to be willing to walk away.
Posted on 5/24/25 at 8:44 pm to Open Your Eyes
It’s not that deep lmao Will Wade whiffed on what’s been his top target for months. Will Wade is still a beast on the recruiting trail. Both are true. Both can be admitted. If using the word “whiffed” sets you off, I apologize, he “missed”

It is amazing how sensitive some people are when talking about a coach who hasn't been here in years and admitted what he did was wrong. Honestly have more respect for him on the latter.
Honestly he probably sets the stage on recruiting next year because he clearly got a ton of NIL to spend. He probably had enough money for Haggerty but decided against setting the market so high in year 1.
