Ehhh not really. These kids usually stay friends. They definitely don’t do what happened here
I think it had more to do with when he transferred too. He left them without a qb.

The guy has accounted for 45 Td’s in three seasons. Brennan has 13 over four seasons. It’s fascinating to me the lense at which we view Brennan. It’s completely disingenuous to discuss Daniels without bringing in his mobility and rushing stats. He’s a completely different player.

I honestly don't get why lsu would take him.

At this late date, you are not going to get a kid that is a starter. This signing would only be for depth in case Brennan would get injury, you would still have a player with some game experience on the team.

Now do how many starts each had during that time period. MB got hurt in a freak accident after sitting behind one of the best QB's in history.

This signing would be for depth only, it would be good to have a player with game experience in case Brennan would get injury. Plus he would only be here for a year, so it wouldn't interfere with the growth of our young qbs.

It’s not a head scratcher since we know 100% that Walker Howard is likely a redshirt to rehab and get healthy. That leaves Nuss and MB. Why not bring in a third to compete

Eli Ricks didn't piss off anyone when he announced he was transferring to Alabama.
This still bothers me and it probably shouldn’t. But how does that happen and all his teammates tweet “good luck” at him. Dude switched to the rival and somehow it’s just “congrats”

quote:I meant to comment this earlier when I read this thread, but I let it go. Now I feel like I have to talk about how centralized yall are in your college football. Some of you only watch LSU and the few top teams in the SEC so you don't pay attention to the rest of college. Daniels is not a bad QB at all. Daniels is a QB that has not been developed at ASU. Receiving options haven't been good since he lost Aiyuk too.
Depth? He’s not better than Nuss or Howard. Our QB room is fine (I love saying that)
I see him as no different than Hendon Hooker at Virginia Tech. Guy was good his first year starting and then was mediocre his next year and was less efficient. When he transfered to Tennessee, Tech fans would talk shite about him not going to do anything. What I said, because I'm not biased like a lot of people, was that you have a guy with obvious talent, playing on a bad team that has done nothing since year one with the HC (same with Arizona St), who already had a good year so you know he can do it, and now you're putting him in a high powered offense??? Hendon Hooker did EXACTLY what I thought he would do and kicked arse all year at Tennessee.
Daniels fits this exact mold like Spencer Rattler does. These kids don't suck, but something happened to where they never made that next step. If you put a QB like Daniels in a Denbrock offense that likes to have a mobile QB, run RPOs (and yes we know you don't need YOUR QB to run for it to work), and put all this insane talent around him, what could he possibly do? I mean the kid only had one bad year. In 2020 they played 4 freaking games. He only passed the ball 21 times a game. What can you actually do with that? He averaged 8.3 per throw, but it wasn't like he was throwing 30 times a game. The great part is this is when he really started using his legs. He ran for 225 yards and 4 TDs in 4 games at almost 7 yards a carry.
I personally feel like, from watching him, that he could come in and win the LSU job in the fall and make LSU even more dangerous on offense with his mobility. And don't worry about his passing. Threw for nearly 3000 yards in 12 games as a true freshman averaging 8.7 ypa.
I said all that to say, I hope LSU pushes hard for him and that he comes here. This won't be just for depth, it's for competition. Let me tell you something. You didn't hear rumors of LSU pushing for any QB prior ro this right? Why Daniels and not some group of 5 kid? Of course this could go nowhere, but if he comes here, he's definitely here to compete to start

He has a cannon and can hurt you with his feet. His accuracy was not great, at times. He'll be a good pro prospect with a nice season somewhere.
I don't get people saying to go get him for depth - guess what, he's not going anywhere to be a backup.

Right because Brennan has had years learning Denbrocks offense and Daniels would obviously be behind

And his teammates despised him. Would like to know more about his personality and hope he wouldn’t be a cancer to the locker room
It’s wild how quickly y’all wanna label someone a cancer. ASU is a sinking ship.
A person with sense would watch that video and come to the conclusion that those in the video are total POS human beings. Not here on TD. The guy who did nothing wrong is the cancer.

EDIT: Now I get it. It appears my post pointing out the similarities between the wording of OP's post and a former self-proclaimed "Insider" was taken down.
Fair enough, I guess.
Oh, and I also commented on the OP joining up in January.
Just like the OP, I see some smoke. What got your goat?

We need the depth. Period. Howard RS and only 2 on Active Roster is asking for disaster...

How do you explain 2021 with 10 tds and 10 picks?
Posted on 3/2/22 at 5:11 pm to lsufan0582
If the recruiting board or Rant says, he's no good. Sign him up coach Kelly. They didn't like Joe Burrow.

Posted on 3/2/22 at 5:19 pm to LSUCOLLEGECHAMPS
I would assume, IF, he came here, he and Myles would have different packages to play to their strengths. But I find it hard to believe he would come here. We shall see.

As good of an offensive coach Kelly is he's had some meh QB play. Book was his best guy and for the most.
Freeman was decent
#5 from 2011-2013 wasn't good at all and it showed in big games
Then the scrub Florida guy that transferred there then beat us in the bowl game ended up being a huge bust.
This past year was bad with that statue wisky transfer and the back ups. Rotating 3 wbs
If Daniels comes here to me it signals Myles might not be 100% and if that's the case we suck it up with a guy like Daniels and pray Nuss or Howard come through.
