Jesus Christ. We are in a New Year’s bowl in a couple of weeks. have a top five recruiting class with six spots left , are likely to get every in-state recruit we want except one, and get 16-18 starters back next year depending on how you count. Sunk ? Wtf ? Can we get some freaking perspective for the love of God?

I agree we're not sunk.

We are one proven OC away from competing with Bama (and beating Bama) and we unilaterally refuse.

we are not nearly that close. We need much better lines, especially dl. We need a much better qb, better wrs, better rbs, which we have coming.

Not one single player from LSU's offense this year would've started for Bama, and arguably none would be in Bama's two-deep. But, all we need is a new OC.

Coach O just needs to be frank with Alleva, F. King and BOS members. "Look if you want to compete for championships every year you have to fund this, this and this to keep up with the bigger SEC programs. This is not rocket science."

And when speaking to the media he needs to put subtle public pressure on the gate keepers to fund championship programs.

Then how did other schools manage to put points on the board against them? Who on Auburn’s offense would have started on Bamas offense? Yet somehow Auburn put up enough points offensively that if they had our defense, they could have won.

Who do you see from LSU's offense that would even see the field in Tuscaloosa? Brossette? Jefferson? There's a huge offensive talent disparity between LSU and Bama.

If UGA, A&M and Bama are being green lighted by their admins with funding and resources the gap will only grow. We will have occasional very good seasons, but sustaining success will be very difficult. Recruiting success will be driven by the Louisiana talent pool because OOS recruiting will be more difficult.

It may not be as bad since they shelled out money for Aranda and have allowed O to hire more support staff, but they need to go all in. Kiffin knows the Saban blueprint so he would be a logical choice to start the SE transition for 2020.

LSU has had more RB’s and WR’s drafted the last 10 years than any other team. And besides, even if there was some huge talent gap, then good coaching and development would help alleviate that.

UGA was able to score more than 0 and they didn’t have any Alabama players, so your argument is BS.

There is a talent disparity, a huge disparity, and even though we play up for it, so do they.
This year in particular we stirred the Hornets nest with the billboard thing AND were even further apart on talent seeing how we played half the game without DW. It was a trainwreck waiting to happen.
I assure you they get up for the Auburn, LSU, MSU games more so than Citadel, and it showed.

You want to trade seasons with Auburn? I swear some of you would be perfectly content to go 6-6 as long as we put up points against Alabama.

I’m asking you WHO ON OTHER TEAMS THAT MANAGED TO SCORE ON ALABAMA HAS ANY PLAYERS THAT WOULD START FOR ALABAMA.

You don’t get to make a statement like you did, get called out on the absurdity of it, and dance around and avoid the question.

Stop making bullshite excuses for our inept offensive coaching and play calling.

our talent in the trenches doesn't compare favorably with bama either.

This is flat out sad, and shows how far we've really fallen in recent years from being "elite".

This is hyperbole.

How many elite classes are there in the country every year? Where is LSU ranked right now?

This is an elite class. Your and everyone else’s problem do nothing but compare it to BAMA and it’s ridiculous, once in a lifetime run. It’s ridiculous. There are more teams in the country other than BAMA. And LSU isn’t the only team having to deal with them either so they’re not the only ones in that boat.

Spare me with the “we’re just not good enough.” It’s more “they’re far and away better than anyone else” than it is “LSU just isn’t good enough.”

You've expressed my sentiments well - no doubt more spirited than I would have.

Refs, Bama's budget, BoS, and on and on have nothing to do with our OC. That's a low level (AD and O) decision that could be changed as I type.

We had enough talent on our team to compete with if not beat Bama and win the SEC this year even without Chaisson and with Devin's suspension.

YOU are the one that’s danced around the question. Who on LSU’s offensive roster would even be in Bama’s two-deep?

a) Our offense doesn't compete against their offense.
b) There are multiple other teams farther behind the talent curve than we are who score vs Bama. Other than player here-n-there, I doubt many of UGA's would meet your criteria.
c) If we had a another approach the answer to your question would look much different. IDK the answer to your question but we have some outstanding talent at WR.
