Bell is a slot WR we weren't in on other slot WRs so his spot wasn't up for grabs. Benton left his recruitment open by flirting with AU. He happened to be competing for a spot with a player that is much better than him. LSU did what they had to do to get a better player who has no history of academic problems. CLASSLESS!

Bradshaw needs to own some of this as well. He has admitted that Benton did not qualify last year because he did not fully understand what the NCAA wanted Benton to do. This year the NCAA spoke directly to Benton and he got ready. Still does not mean he will stay eligible.

I'm a big miles supporter but i'm not happy about this situation.
Benton isn't to blame.
L.S.U. is a small %. Tough decision and put in a corner by a parent. Upset the fan's who pay your salary and support your team, or upset a coach and player that has been loyal to l.s.u.
Reality is, this fan base would have had a meltdown had randal went to bama.
Ther real blame go's on randal's dad. It's his son's future, not his. If his son wanted to go to l.s.u. with or without benton, then let him go. If he's good enough he'll make it.
What do you do at the next level? Arizona has bolden and fitzgerald, you say don't draft you because you can't make the field?
I've always felt, if you can't start at l.s.u. because of competition, you will never start at the n.f.l. level. If you can't beat out who l.s.u. has on their roster, you can't beat out a n.f.l. team roster.
I have a bad feeling miles and l.s.u. are going to be held accountable for this and Randal's father get's off the hook.

All this guessing and round and round is getting nowhere for anyone
He was not pulled because of rueben and Les even said that if you care to read it and understand
But maybe you guys like to have something to talk about. But I hope everyone remembers their comments once the whole story comes out and will be man or woman enough to come back then

i am not saying LSU can't land top notch classes moving forward, i just wish this could have been avoided
it is a shitty situation that looks bad on LSU and Miles and will be an obstacle for LSU in the future

benton may be bad at math, but i know he's not stupid enough to think that LSU wouldn't pick randle over him. whatever animosity/worry/respect(?) there was between benton and randle could hvae been smothed over by benton a long time ago

benton didn't understand he had to show up to class and actually try?
Does no one remember last summer when benton threw in the towel? Gave up, didn't do any of his work, failed to show up for a job given to him, etc

I don't have a clue what went on behind the scenes.
from what i have read, miles made the best decision that he could in crunch time.
signing benton, and losing randle would have been RETARDED.
the rewards far outweighed the risks of signing randle instead of benton.
but, if benton had got his stuff straight 2 years ago, we wouldn't have had all this speculation.
he would have been a tiger 2 years ago.
this really boils down to someone taking responsibility for their actions, and someone not.
