I'm still confused on the whole bailey story. By her posts on ig, it looks like she really would like to be on the team. Does anyone know if it was her decision or the team's?

Another totally random thought: The LSU Gymnastics hate on twitter continues surrounding Chae Campbell rotating with us at nationals (people saying they feel bad/sorry for her). And yet: the day Nationals assignments and rotation order was announced, LSU gymnastics was quite quick to release a statement, welcoming her to their team for that weekend and how they look forward to cheering her on and being her host team. Kennedi and Kiya have also both already publicly expressed their excitement for it, as has Jay, complete with his admiration for her as a gymnast and athlete. And yet we’re the team that gets hated on for being fake, stuck up, too much, etc.

Still haven’t seen Alabama say a thing about who’s rotating with them. ?? In fairness, the gymternet hates Alabama marginally more than LSU, so there’s that. ??

They seem to hate us about the same but have been incredibly vocal about the LSU hate for half a decade now, where as Bama started back in June.

Will also add that our girls have now learned her floor routine so they can do it with her on the sidelines at nationals, as if they’re her actual teammates. If that doesn’t say sportsmanship, not sure what does

Why are people so in love with Michigan all of a sudden? Surprised they are projected by many to win the whole thing.

My take is for the people who to see a new team win, they think Michigan has the best shot, what with multiple 198s. I appreciate that they’ve really excelled with great level 10s and their vault line up from what I saw at regionals is crazy good-they have like 7-8 girls who do Yurchenko 1.5s.

If LSU doesn’t win, who would you all most like to see win next after us?

I’d like to see Minnesota win if we don’t. They were at our regional in 2019, and I thought they had great fans.

It definitely would have been Denver for me. I would have to say Minnesota now, because I just love Mya Hooten. If not Minnesota, I would rather see OU win again instead of watching any of the other's bringing it home. I mean Florida and Bama.. duh no explanation needed, and something would hurt so bad if Michigan and Cal would break through before LSU.

My order of those Id like to see win if we don’t is:
1. Michigan (Bev Plocki is in almost a similar position to DD, having been at Michigan as their head coach since 1990 and has done incredible work with that program especially in the last decade)
2. Minnesota (this years big 10 champs and I would love that for Ramler)
3. Cal (they’re on fire this season and I think our girls and Jay could learn a thing or two from them and their bar and floor lineups- less difficulty and more execution of the easier skills for cleaner routines)
4. Utah (think they could’ve challenged Florida last year for the title with the talent they have. also they were in our region this past year and 2019 and it’s been a while since they’ve brought the title home)
5. Florida (yes they’re our sec rival but i’d rather them over Bama and they have currently the best shot of bringing the title home of all the sec schools i believe)
6. OU (they’re the reigning champs and it would be interesting to see their margain of victory sans the Maggie Nichols bonus with her in their lineups, especially after losing to Denver at Big 12 champs)
7. Bama (our girls need a big win over them at nationals and we can’t afford to lose to them again. Otherwise it’ll be a huge boost to their ego in Tuscaloosa and nobody wants that. I hope we take em in the semis and they don’t advance to the finals)

Ultimately though, I’m looking forward to a great exciting weekend of gymnastics and seeing who comes out on top after a year off of post season

I am honestly with Geauxxxxfan above - I would rather one of the old powers win (Utah, then Oklahoma, then Florida, then an extremely distant last Bama) if we didn't. I really want us to be the next one to breakthrough. I did have high hopes for this year given the deferrals at Florida and UCLA, but alas, it doesn't seem like this is our year based on regionals. However, am hoping for a huge bounce back and would love it if we could at least surprise everyone by advancing to finals with the worst rotation draw.

Just watched Jay’s interview on LSUSports YouTube page. He seems a little more humbled now...not as cocky. Think Regionals humbled him some.

Not sure I would say Jay was cocky necessarily but there was definitely a disconnect between what he is seeing in the gym and what we saw during the meet. As stated, its one thing to do exceptional work in the boundaries of your facility, its another thing to hit it in a live pressure situation in front of a crowd and real judges with a lot of things going on at the same time.

Comes down to bars or beam. Theoretically all events need to hit but these two events have been the glaring weak spots all year. If beam doesn’t get its act together, will be tough to advance. Beam was a disaster in regionals although I don’t expect the judging to be so forgiving this Friday, hopefully they turn the page this weekend.

I expect vault and floor to put LSU over a 99 score just from these two events alone. I really think LSU needs to try to hit the 49.400 mark on beam and 49.350 on bars.

I would prefer Minnesota, OU, Utah, Bama (gym not the same as football), Cal, Michigan (really wish DD could have gotten hers), and way last is Fla. I'm sorry but I hope they don't even make it out of Semis. I would like to see them fall on their faces forever!!

I really hope they don't do that stupid quad view cuz i'm blind and can't see that!

Nationals typically has the quad box coverage that occasionally shows all 4 routines, mostly just at the beginning of a rotation and once in the middle of each rotation when the events are all either going on at once or paused. Aside from that, at nationals, it tends to only show one routine at a time and rotates through the events to show as many routines on the main feed as possible. Aside from that, there’s separate channels/streams for each event all meet long for both sessions so you can watch just the stream for one particular event or team and that’ll be available on both days for the entire weekend

Gotta give it to UCLA. Their marketing is why recruits will forever flock there, especially with the NLI rules going into effect in August. The Essence Girls United magazine and spreads of the four gymnasts (Dennis, Wright, Frazier, and Campbell) is absolutely stunning.

Agreed!

And did I miss it or did LSU not do a senior tribute for Olivia Gunter on Instagram?
