First of all, frank Wilson told me to my face at the bash we are signing more than 25. Fact. Next Lsu is likely to get McDowell, Dupree, Brown, Quinn, blacknail, and jones before the summer is over. That leaves Robinson, Fournette, Willis, and noil. I was at camp last week and you can put Noil, fournette, Willis down as commitments because they are done deals. That leaves Robinson which we all know is 50/50. You add possibly Kenny Young or another unknown and that's about 27 or 28 commits. There is always a decommit at the end as it has been the last few years. We have at least 6 early enrollees. My point being Get and grip. The only kids we have lost to other schools that we really wanted we're Landon Collins(bought) and Joe mcknight(bought)

Seriously what do you not like about lsu's class so far and the potential that we still have to sign? This should be golden.

The fact that most of the recent offers going out are to guys that I have not heard of nationally. I don't live in LA. anymore but most of these guys are not even rated high by instate guys. That doesn't have any concern to you? Who knows maybe all these guys blow up their senior year but if the guys ranking them instate have them rated 80th in state and then they are offered a scholarship then maybe all of them will be mo Claiborne by the end of the season. I trust the coaches on their evaluations but it just seems lately i'm scratching my head on who was just offered because no one even mentioned in this forum before.

2006 #7, 2007 #4, 2008 #11, 2009 #2, 2010 #6, 2011 #6, 2012 #18 & 2013 #6 - those numbers represent Les's recruiting classes beginning with 2006 just with Rivals - so you doubt that Les knows what he's doing?

Also les has led the conference in NFL draft picks along with Georgia since he has been at LSU. That also is a fact.

Fl observer is simply stating concerns. What is wrong with that. Enough under the radar camp offers. Lets go after kids who have proven themselves on the field the last 2 or 3 and have film to back them up - not just a 1 or 2 day desperation camp day.

Do you really think that the coaches had never seen film on these kids and literally just offered after 1 day of camp? Really?

According to Frank Wilson, they evaluate 1000's of players every year:
quote:

i asked Frank how many players they evaluate every year...

Wilson: Oh, thousands. Thousands. Thousands. We're blessed to have an excellent operation across the hall (player personnel). They screen thousands of players and make recommendations to me about which players are "our type" of guys. That allows the coaching staff to not have to watch ten thousand; but maybe only one thousand

LINK

Sorry, just because you never heard of the kid, doesn't mean the coaches haven't.

And this is laughable:
quote:

Lets go after kids who have proven themselves on the field the last 2 or 3 and have film to back them up .

Really, what established stars do you think they aren't recruiting?

thanks for the responses. I aint mad All I was trying to say was it just seems like a lot of the recent commits were guys that have not been mentioned on the recruiting board before. Hell I though they were baseball or basketball commits. I trust miles and I think LSu will sign some big fish when all said and done i'm just not sold on getting all the guys everyone else thinks were gonna get. hope i'm wrong Goodnight!!

Ill take a 6'2 defensive back with 4.4 speed that covered the best 3 receivers in America over a kid from out of state that doesn't play the quality of high school football that Louisiana has. By the way the kid was all state and had 76 tackles, 3 int.

Now Miles has egg on his face if these 10 want to sign. you are now breaking a promise to a kid.
Why? There's 11 spots still available. Learn math.

I cannot fathom how anyone thinks they have a legit gripe about this staff's recruiting, especially at DB. And just because YOU haven't heard of him doesn't mean he isn't any good. Do some research before you vomit your lame thoughts on all of us.

this and also what makes people think that the coaching staff doesn't consider him to be a better prospect than any of those so called 5 star DB recruits that are still out there? Maybe in the coaches eyes he is a 5 star

Man you can't be this stupid. You think every class is full of 5 star players? Hell some of the best players we have ever had were camp offers. Does the Honey Badger ring a bell?

This is the really stupid part. Ramirez was All-State in 5A but he hasn't proven himself on the field?
