Well said LSUFANVA.

LSU is bidding on players like everyone else, but Bama in particular is on a different level as far as doing whatever it takes to get who they want.

Sanders is a great example.

I think one of the more impressive under the radar gets this cycle has been Raydarious Jones.

Had to go strong at him to beat out Ole Miss in the end. We didn’t flinch with him.

What's up with Quashon Fuller. Name surfaced, then went quiet. Is he locked in for a visit?

I think I know why our recruiting lags Bama’s.

Maybe we’ve just discovered an important weakness in our recruiting strategy....

Bama wants Young as a nose guard. Bama has very little depth there.

Not counting Quinnen Williams, you have the same number as us - 2...and we each have 1 signed so far in the current class.

Plus, if saban really wants Young as a NT, Young's going to be on the bench for at least 2 years after singing...he's barely 290lbs right now, and everyone else in the country has recruited him as an exterior linemen.

saban is full of it, as always.

If bama is really telling Young that, Ed needs to use this on his visit in a couple weeks...we can use Young right now at DE. We won't RS him, and he'll be in the 3-deep right off the bat...behind either Logan or Farrell...he'll play in at least 7-8 regular season games in 2019.

I like the Fuller kid. He appears to have a high motor, which is something you can't teach! I sure hope we get a visit because he could be a nice addition!

I agree with you...even just adding Fuller to the class by himself would be huge. Hopefully there's a visit being set up.

One of these DE's has to see the opportunity for more and more immediate playing time at LSU.

We can. We won't. Don't sell short the money behind LSU. We've just got gun-shy money men or those that would make it happen. No doubt we dabble in the "dark" side of recruiting but we cant match Bamas level because of fear, not money. That's our bad.

You are correct that we have boosters with deep pockets. My point about why we can't outbid these other schools was pretty much explained by you.

Alabama is in a large way "protected" by having Auburn in the state. Because both have so much on each other, neither will turn the other in. The arrangement is similar with Tennessee. I know of two specific cases where Alabama committed violations involving two athletes enrolled at another institution. When that institution complained, Tennessee went after the school on Alabama's behalf.

I think Saban is stringing Ish along just to frick with our recruiting. Come signing day, Saban won’t have an offer for Ish and never had an offer for Lee who always had his hopes up for getting that offer.

But wouldn't this mean we end up with Ish and Lee?

If that was the case why can’t we just out bid Alabama for Alabama prospects then?

What happened to Ole Miss. Its not smart to use Alabama tactics in football and Ky tactics in basketball. The NCAA takes a dim view of such.

We aren't worried about protection. We are worried about our own compliance staff. We've got one of the hardest complaince groups in the country. Anything close to a violation is reported. Doesn't help our deep pocket guys have many other things to tie their money up. We aren't as willing to bask in football glory as Bama is.

I agree...that's the difference.

I used to think our fans were at least as adamant about winning as bama's, but I no longer think that. I actually think it's our own administration that's broken the fanbase's will moreso than bama.

Many of y'all consistantly talk of money being thrown around as the reason kids are going to Bama. Also, you mention LSU as throwing money around as well.

Here is the truth of the situation. Yes, most schools in the FBS cheat to some extent and that includes LSU and the entire SEC. However, nobody and I mean nobody is as flagrant as Bama when it comes to bagmen and shady crap.

Bama is the only damn school EVER to have had 2 consecutive Football staffs
(Gene Stallings & Mike Dubose) put on probation and had Bama Basketball put on probation in between the 2 football probations.

The point of this is that the Bama program never learns and has a culture of cheating which goes back to Bear Bryant. Hell, the NCAA had to create new rules because of the crap Bryant was doing. Bryant was both AD and Head Coach and was signing football players to Basketball, swimming, baseball, etc.
Scholarships. The NCAA forced schools to make the signee of whatever scholarship he signed to count as that sports roster and they put limits on roster sizes for Colleges.

The culture at Bama is one of cheating and permeates the entire Bama Athletic Program and infests the SEC offices in Birmingham.

I first learned of Bama's cheating ways in 1968. I grew up in Bogalusa and Bogalusa had a QB in 1968 named Terry Davis. He was a fantastic option QB. Terry was bound for LSU until Bear Bryant and a bagman visited Davis. The next thing you know Davis had flipped to Bama. Terry was soon after driving around in a brand new Red/White Pontiac
Grande Prix from a Mobile dealer.

Terry was telling everyone his Mom bought the car but we all knew better because Davis' Mom was a cook at an Elementary School in Bogalusa and his Dad was not around. Two years later Terry Davis was on the front cover of Sports Illustrated after Bama beat LSU
with a subtitle that read "Terry Davis Dazzles LSU". You see Terry Davis was the 1st Wishbone QB at Alabama.

The long way around this bush is that the culture of cheating is well entrenched at Bama to the point that it is just daily business there. It will not change and if anyone compares Bama's level of cheating to LSU then they are either totally uninformed or lying.

Currently, Bama has infested Tangipahoa particularly Amite. They funnel kids through that program with handlers. They tried it in West Monroe but got shut down. All of a sudden Amite popped up. Lol. Bama was using Fairhope High School in Alabama for the same purpose. They get kids elligible and funnel crap to kids via coaches. Nothing new but Bama is absolutely filthy and has been for a very long time. Screw 'em.
