You do realize since NIL era Tenn has been in the top 5 and often top 3 within SEC in spending right? They're actually always in the top 5-10 nationally as well.

How do we even know he was committed or, if he is, that he's still looking elsewhere.

Agrees to terms with LSU, agent leaks it to national media, Miami/Tenn panic and up the bid. Seems reasonable to me. Especially since Tenn side is telling you you're getting played because they said they had no knowledge on the commit to LSU. This tells you they never told them anything they were just listening to numbers. So, ploy to get more out of LSU or more out whoever is willing to deal with the drama.
