The other players that were not able to attend:
Anthony Wilson
Neboisha Bukumirovich
Dennis Brown
John Williams
Bernard Woodside
Don Redden (rest in peace)
Hope they are all doing well. I know John Williams has had health issues.
I was fortunate enough to see in person 4 of the 5 games in their Final Four run including the semifinal against Louisville.

You were responding to tiger ugly who said he's counting 2020 as an appearance. Your response wasn't referencing the 1986 team as far as I can tell. Correct me if I'm wrong please.
Unless the team plane went down, we were gonna make the 2020 tournament EASILY.
I didn't claim we would go to a Final 4 or any such thing, because unless you're Duke, Kansas or a couple of other schools, all you can do is get in the tournament and hope to go on a run.
Something we will NEVER experience with this clown running things.
And to your comment "I see" yep, unless you're blind you'd see LSU in the tournament every year Wade was here, with RARE EXCEPTION.

I remember, I think it was Jimmy Ott, who years ago had a funny line about Neboisha, and how he apparently shrunk 8 inches on the flight from Yugoslavia to the States.
This being the era when Dale was perennially searching all corners of the globe far and wide to find the next great sure thing Big Man.

Back when LSU basketball meant something special ——— now if we had just had a coach who knew X’s and O’s better.

That last second put-back by Redden.
PS........The current COX logos on the PMORGUE court are an artistic abomination eyesore. As bad as the old COX logos were, they were better than these.

I did not see John Williams or Anthony Wilson. Those were 2 key guys on that team, along with the late Don Redden. That was great season - my junior year at LSU.
was wondering where john was also.

That last second put-back by Redden.
Redden’s miss was put back by Anthony Wilson.

Yes it was. And that damned ball bounced around the rim off the board about 10 times before settling in the basket.
The youngsters on here don't realize how special basketball was during most of the Dale era.

The good ole days.
I was at the Final Four in Dallas as well as the games in Atlanta to get us to the Final Four. That Kentucky game was a classic.
I was bummed out after the loss in Dallas. My wife and I were walking to our car in the hotel parking lot to go out to dinner that night when we passed Dale Brown on the sidewalk.
I shook his hand and said to him “Coach, that sure was fun while it lasted “.
He had a big smile on his face and told me “Don’t worry about it. We will be back next year and the games will be in the Superdome “.
It put me in a much better mood.
And he was almost right.

Just curious, did Pete Maravich ever show up for any of the games that season? Or was he kinda persona non grata after he left LSU?

It was very very weirs that they did not mention those that weren’t in attendance especially when it’s key guys from the team. Sadly, that’s par for the course with anything related to LsU basketball these days.

Pete was never presona non grata around here but no, he didn’t go to the games.

One of my favorite LSU teams of my time as a fan which goes back to 1975. I’ve said it many times, if Nikita Wilson had played in the spring of 86, we would have won it all. We just couldn’t handle Purvis Ellison.

and we had beaten many BIGS up to that point.
william bedford for memphis state
john salley-GA tech
problem was we had a 8 point lead at half and fell apart in the 2nd half and lost by 11.
