Not a single mention of the monstrous start by Caraway with 10 RBIs.

Hmmmm......

Certainly didn't in 2023. We flew by the seat of our pants on that championship run, somehow someway getting it done with unexpected heroes.

Now that is impressive.

Dardar does as well. 12 ABs, 13 bases (2 HRs, 2 2b, and a single)

I feel like this is the strong part of our pitching right now. You have some outliers that won't get much time down the stretch, but we have several reliable/promising guys that can come in. Guidry, Sheerin, Williams, Rizy, Plog, Ricken, and Theopolis have all looked good so far. I hope to see more of Paz and Dathe, b/c they have some promise as well. I still have faith in Cowan. Primeaux was reliable last year for the most part in his role.

I think this
quote:

The team ERA is 5.05.

Is more a product of this
quote:

The team slugging % is .674.

Than an indicator of a problem. Especially because of this
quote:

The team's pitchers have 73 strike outs in 41 innings pitched.

The ERA is high because we're giving away too many free passes, that's really it. We havent worked ourselves out of those jams as much as we've needed to.

2 of our last 3 HR given up were 3 run shots, and those hurt. 2 of the guys on base that scored in those were from walks there. All the other solo dingers we give up are more like whatever, this team can survive those, but it hurt when 2-3 runs come across on 1 swing and 1 of them is because it was due to a free pass.

Teams are only hitting .223 against us; so its not like we are just giving up a bundle of hits (certian pitchers did struggle a little like Cowan, Evans, Pax and Fontenot giving up hits, but not a systemic problem).

Just need to control the free passes a little better and get out of what jams a little better we do get into.

Gavin Guidry 4.1 innings pitched, 1 hit allowed, struck out 10 of 14 batters faced, 0 walks, 72 "f bombs".

How do you not get hyped when he gets in the game?
