B.S. is right!! Sometimes that HC has to say that to keep the competition going strong....

If all 3 are even, then we would be in trouble regardless of who starts. I think many are assuming that the QB competition in the last few years has ACTUALLY been a competition. Even this year, if not all QBs have equal reps with first team, how do you really compare fairly? Also, if JM is scrawny then MB is as well because they have very similar builds. Based of the reported numbers, JM is 215 and MB is 193. LN 231. All of the QBs will need to be mobile, not necessarily a glorified RB.

That's right!! It appears to me that a lot of assumptions are made based on Media reports.

Maybe I’m wrong but if Justin McMilan is the starting QB at LSU then we are in for some major trouble.

You are wrong. The kid is legit. I've been saying from the start

I agree JM is legit, hopefully he finally gets his shot!!!!

All three should be even until fall camp.

disagree. The sooner we find a guy that separates himself from the others, the better off we'll be.

The no. 1 will get more reps and, more importantly, the team can coalesce behind him and the staff can adjust their offensive plans to maximize his skill set.

I know I will get blasted for this you can believe it or not but I ran into Danny Etling and asked him who he think will get the nod next season he told me JM. Downvote away but it is the God honest truth. This was in the ATL airport last week.

You know that actually makes a lot of sense from a game-manager perspective if we're not seeing Myles or Lowell emerge as a game-breaker type QB.

That sounds good to me!!! Those at practice know the QB competition isn't "Dead Even"

If Orgeron starts JM in a game, he might as well start looking at U-Haul rates.

I think he's going to be looking for a U-Haul away!!! What have the other QB's shown you? JM deserves a shot...

“Those at practice know the QB competition isn't "Dead Even"!!!

This is the MOST accurate statement made yet!!

And BTW Etling ain’t at practice!

It’s inevitable the cream will rise to the top.. just wait and see my boys, just wait!!

Myles Brennan walked out of a high school classroom and, in just a few weeks, beat out JM who had been here a year. JM will NEVER have such a gigantic advantage again.

I can give credence to Lowell, because he was hurt, but JM will almost certainly not beat out Brennan.

Oh, and Etling probably walked away from you texting his buddies, “Guess what I just told this yo-yo in the Atlanta airport?”

TBH, what else could Etling say? JM is the more senior QB. To say anything else would be an insult to him in particular. It would be like someone running into Mett in an airport last year, and Mett saying the he thought one of the other guys would beat out Etling. You just don't do that.

What I do like is that everyone on the team appears to be on the same page. They're trying their best to make sure it's a fair competition. In order to do that, the appearance that all three are pretty much even needs to be kept up as long as possible. When it becomes obvious that they aren't, we'll have our answer.

While the whole point of this forum is to discuss topics like this, we have much bigger problems if we can't trust our coaching staff to properly manage this decision. While not guaranteed that they will, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and see how it unfolds.

Competition forces improvement in all - would not have it any other way - as spring & fall progress one will separate from the group. Despite all the hype for any, best man wins the job.
