K&R Show on ESPN made reference to several comments they were hearing that he was forced out. Point being, he's "retiring" in the middle of the season, as next week. They also noted how he was announcing for a lower tier bowl as for as the quality of the 2 teams & ESPN had other announcers on the bigger bowl games.

Now I agree the comment on Mixon was on the edge, but the comment a few years back about Katherine Webb was absolutely on point. She was gorgeous, and if the producers are going to put her on screen, Musberger was perfectly fine commenting on how beautiful she is. And she is.

I think I'll actually miss Brent. I remember back in the day when he hosted The NFL Today, he was really good. And I can listen to Musburger call a game without getting overly irritated, unlike when I listened to one called by Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson. It didn't take long for me to hit the mute button on those clowns.
