There’s been a lot of buzz that if Gayle ever wanted to sell Saints the Fertittas would be interested in them.
One of the disqualifying factors for NFL team ownership is ownership of gambling establishments. The Rooney family had to restructure ownership of the Steelers due to some of the Rooney siblings business interest in gambling establishments that had slot machines, among other NFL ownership requirements that were at issue. In order for the Fertitta's to own an NFL franchise, they would have to divest their interests in casinos.

He did not attend lsu.. he did attend university of Houston but did not graduate.. they recently gave him an honorary degree.. the new university of Houston medical school is named after him.. he donated 50 million I believe..
I believe his name is on lots of other stuff there and and other sports things
Big name in the university of Houston and Houston area..he owns a lot of stuff in Galveston also ?
Anyway.. if he wants I am sure plenty of money to spread around if he sees a business reason or has an inclination.. maybe we get lucky and get something through his son?
He owns saltgrass and one br. .. maybe start having coaches dinners there?

I was told, the dad, Truman, is the head of the Board of Directors for the University of Houston.

I wonder if Tillman Fertitta is any relation to the Fertitta family from WBR/Iberville Parishes.

Doubtful, Tillman was born in 1957 to Vic Fertitta who was also from Galveston.

He has relatives around here. When Texas shut gambling down in Galveston, many relatives fled. I believe his father owned the Balinese which was a big restaurant/ gambling hall. My mother and father went there on their honeymoon. Al Capone used to winter in Arkansas and heard about the illegal stuff going on in Galveston, gambling, bootlegging, prostitution. Sent his heavies down to take it over but Fertitta caught wind and sent his heavies to meet them on the border of Texas/Louisiana on Hwy90 back then. Al didn't like odds and backed down. Some of Tillmans uncles fled to Vegas when it became legal to gamble. Started working as a valet driver and slowly worked into the casino operations making it up the ladder. He found an old bingo hall off the strip and bought it. It later became Palace Station where you could bring your paycheck to cash and get free spins. Was known as the workers casino.

This is almost as bad as Moscona repeatedly calling Jim Flores ‘John’
