Agree or disagree, he thought of football as a physical battle...he really thought he could just be stronger and more physical at the point of attack. I find it nice to know that there are still people that think, right or wrong, that you can just line up, clinch your jaw, ball up your fist and impose your will.

Just as perplexing is why there are down votes. People just as stupid I guess.

Pretty sure the downvotes are because this topic is a week old and has been talked about plenty. Not because of the subject of the OP.

But it wasnt a brick wall, it was another team of collegiate athletes. Teams have been trying to run around Bama for years, and only those capable of scoring 50 points have had a chance. We have and were never built that way. We are the game that Bama circles every season for a reason, it isnt like we were not close to beating them.

And why no one else hired him to coach.

This is simply not true. Les Miles doesn't have the faculty to understand football at higher levels than popwarner. Miles also was never going have anyone smarter than him running the show, and why he insisted on low IQ qbs he could impress at a BBQ. This is the reality. All coaches with real football smarts wanted no part of Les Miles, and the ONLY coaches worth a shite on his staff were grossly overpaid just to cover Les Miles' incompetent buffonery.

Buts, Rick mama say corch Miles bess eva!

Well if he truly thought like you just stated then he is dumber than I originally thought. If it hasn't worked all game and the games prior then why in the hell wouldn't you try to change ? Saban must have privately laughed his arse off in disbelief the last couple of years.

Just look at all the colleges that jumped at the opportunity to land him as their HC. Already documented that he bombed the Purdue interview.

All the teams that scored a lot of points were teams that tried to run around them and none were teams that ran straight into the heart of their defense. If you need a lot of points to win, why use the method that never works instead of the method that occasionally works?

Y'all do understand, this is the exact approach Saban took to building a team that could beat LSU.

We were a physical beast of a program, built on 230 lb backs running the toss dive right up the gut, and expanding the offense from there. Hester, Scott, etc. We also featured a fast, strong and dominant defense capable of snuffing out most offenses, and particularly those that tried to run up our gut.

Saban didn't come in with a Sumlin offense and try to outscore us, he attacked LSU right at the point of attack- he stuffed the run. And then he ran right at us.

So I guess he's idiotic, too... or maybe he just got more players, and won the straight-up battles on the field.

because we had a history of our way working more than theirs. Our success against Bama was what made it so hard to turn away from.

A reasonable person can see this. Thank God most HS coaches saw it to.....

Les Miles has left the building. OK?

So have Mathieu, Peterson, OBJ, Fournette, etc.

Should we ignore them too?
