Ummm...ok, you're reaching. That says nothing to it being a one night stand. The man had to work and she was on his mind the entire time so he kept calling back to her in Baton Rouge. Even says he can't wait to get back to her. Doesn't sound like a one night stand to me at all. In fact, if you want to relate the song to LSU football, look at all the people around here that moved away due to work or other reasons and miss being able to go to games. They always have it on their mind and try to get back to BR. It's not rocket science. But I guess you can twist just about anything to fit however you want it to suit your beliefs and/or hate of certain things.

Hmmmm Least this isn't a thread about why Neck is banned from being played.

Take a step back member12. I'm a big Patsy Cline fan!

Callin' Baton Rouge" is an up-tempo song with a bluegrass sound. In it, the male narrator, presumably a truck driver, is attempting to make contact with a female ("such a strange combination of a woman and a child") named Samantha, whom he met the night before in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
from the song's own wiki.
also, for those of you not too swift at picking up context.
he says " last night" singular not plural. not "my last night" which would entail a longer stay. not "last week" or "month".
at no point does he reference a time other than the night before. the scene. etc. it is implied that it is a song about one night.

Not only that, I bet she was under 18.

Nothing to indicate they met the night before. Wiki is crowd sourced information. If it ain't written by Dennis Linde it don't matter.

People just don't get it. When you've lived and loved like Garth has, you know what life's about.

I know totally forgot it was a cover.

Bobby McGee was at least written by a badass. So that wouldn't be too bad.
ETA: I wouldn't mind hearing the Oak Ridge Boys version of Callin Baton Rouge though. I bet that's interesting.

We should ban Louisiana Saturday night too. It hints at sexual activity for entertainment. Filthy and vile...
