Many fans are passionate about LSU football. If you not that is fine, but it certainly makes you a fairweather fan.
I cannot and will not disagree with this. I just think many go overboard as well, that was the point I was making.

I have seen the same patern the entire season. Not going to criticize but support the Tigers in closing out the season. Dissapointed, but also live in the real world. Will be a fan win or loose. Hate to loose, but that is part of life. You got to keep trying to do the best you can with what you got.

What we go overboard about is the bandwagoners that go to Tiger Staium and disgrace the reputation that was built by our ancestors!

I agree but from a different perspective. LSU football has become a business and a big business at that. The university doesn't really care about those people sitting in the stands as long as games are sold out and the university makes money. The same 4 tickets that cost me $120 dollars a game 15 years ago now cost me $600 a game. There is nothing "bandwagon" about me refusing to give them up. And if i do somebody is waiting in line to snap them up.
We were all there during Hallman and Dinardo and nobody ever brought this up. And that is when the stadium was 3/4 full at kickoff and regular people had 50 yard line seats.
LSU has created these expectations by sticking it to fans the way they have. If leaving early in order to show that we may not be completely satisfied with the product is all we can do, so be it.

not a business. I will not accept that as an argument. It is LSU football. Yes, a little overgoverned. But that does not take away the Billy Cannon run, the earthquake game. LSU is still what it has always been. And that is how I will treat it. LSU has my pledge of support, even though I cant pay 600 a ticket.

And your very admission that you refuse to look at all sides of the discussion is why you are not going to be able to have fully rounded rebuttals.

There are other ways to display your disgust for the COACHING STAFF. You are TAF member and there are ways to get your voice heard leaving early is no excuse.
Bandwagon fans are expected with wins..it is a result of the TAF just one of the cons we have to take with the pro's just know there are other ways show your displeasure to the RIGHT PEOPLE not to the 20-22 year olds.

Not a business??? If that were true tickets would still be $25-$30, cokes would be a dollar and the best band in the country wouldn't have been demoted to the endzone!!!
Not a business....ha

And we NEVER would have won ONE NC let alone TWO.

no i looked at that side, and i think is stupid. Stop digging! What is happening here is the division of the fans from the non-fans
Posted on 10/26/08 at 2:25 pm to jacquespene8
what is your definition of a fan
Posted on 10/26/08 at 2:27 pm to Tigerdew
I'm not disagreeing with that at all. LSU had to make some tough decisions.

prices went up. deal with it. you dont pay 75 cents a gallon for gas anymore do you. Money has to be made to keep facilities up and staff so that LSU football can exist. It is a business only in the way that money has to be made. You have to pay money to keep your wife alive, do you call her a business?
Posted on 10/26/08 at 2:32 pm to jacquespene8
There are Pro's and Cons to the TAF which has helped get us those 2 NC's and helped the rest of the athletic dept.,,but the Cons are that you have fans there that are there to be seen or watch "entertainment"
Posted on 10/26/08 at 2:32 pm to jacquespene8
My wife is dead.....that business went out of business

Nope, you are just throwing darts here. I actually have a personal relationship with my wife. You are just confused to thinking you have a personal relationship with LSU, but when is the last time someone affiliated with LSU had any real conversation directly with you when they weren't asking for money?
Exactly.
Posted on 10/26/08 at 2:35 pm to CollegeFBRules
And I was not calling out anybody's wife, that was a general analogy.
Posted on 10/26/08 at 2:36 pm to jacquespene8
No that would be a specific analogy. What the hell are they teaching at LSU these days?
Posted on 10/26/08 at 2:37 pm to CollegeFBRules
So you are saying there is no need in being a fan of anyone other than your family someone that talkes to you..hmmmmm
you are not a fan of Jesus??
BTW I bet you are that parent that thinks every child should get a trophy..and it is ok to quit?
