I have re-read this like 10 times and still don’t understand. (Not trying to be a dick, I truly appreciate your post)

The best I gather is he was 1for4 with a ground out to 2B, HR and a K. RBI on a sac?

To be completely fair, Alex Box is a difficult place for opponents to play

The 1 refers to a pop out to the pitcher.

The rbi was from his homerun.

Yeah it would help if it were formatted differently:

1-4 (4->3, K, 1, HR)

It’s listed in chronological order. Combined with the BPB thread, you can see the plays in the circumstances they occurred in.

Haven’t seen any MPHs listed in the first 3 scrimmage notes. Need to get that info added going forward

Did anyone else notice the white flashes emanating from the left field scoreboard late in the scrimmage yesterday?

I saw flashes, but assumed it was distant lightning and didn't pay much attention.

Great job, Scuba, as always!

Not worthy of being its own thread but here is an interesting article in today's Advocate on-line by Koki Riley:

LSU baseball scrimmages: Marcos Paz, Mavrick Rizy and Cooper Moore shine

Despite missing his entire senior season due to Tommy John surgery, Paz excelled in his first appearance for LSU in 2026. The freshman right-hander didn’t allow an earned run in 1? innings, striking out five batters and surrendering just one hit on Thursday.

Paz showcased a powerful fastball with tailing movement, a slider and a curveball. His command could use more polish, but for a pitcher who hasn’t thrown in a competitive game in a year and a half, he showed good control thanks to a smooth delivery.

Besides Paz, also throwing on Thursday was Rizy. The 6-foot-9 sophomore right-hander allowed just one earned run with five strikeouts in 2? innings, showing improved command and a much smoother delivery than he featured last season.

Johnson noted on Friday that Rizy worked with strength and conditioning coach Chris Martin over the offseason to improve his delivery.

Cooper Moore aiming for rotation role

Moore was the first pitcher to toe the rubber this preseason, and the junior right-handed transfer from Kansas didn’t disappoint, tossing four scoreless innings with five strikeouts.

His best weapon was his changeup, a pitch that he showed supreme command of and produced a litany of swings and misses. To complement the changeup, Moore also threw a sweeper, four-seam fastball and curveball.

“He's going to be at the front of this thing,” Johnson said. “He's going to throw a ton of innings.”

Update on second base battle

LSU’s three leading contenders to start at second base all had strong moments through the first week of scrimmages.

Fifth-year senior Tanner Reaves had two hits on Friday and a home run on Thursday. Seth Dardar, another fifth-year senior, drove in three runs and hit a homer on Wednesday. Senior Brayden Simpson went 2 for 3 on Wednesday.

Not one of them emerged as a leading candidate to start once Friday’s scrimmage came to a close, but each hitter spent time working at positions other than second. Reaves played some left field on Friday. Simpson spent a bunch of innings at third base throughout the week, and Dardar got work at first and third.
