We scored on both of those same possessions. I know one for sure. What y'all don't realize is Quaterman has I want to be the hero mentality and it's gift and a curse. If he kicks that ball to his left on the last play Blakeney and Hornsby were wide open for threes. 1.3 sec left when he reached 3 pt line
A perfect example is him hitting the three that put LSU up 13 and then letting his man immediately shoot a wide open three because he was too busy celebrating to the crowd, like a dumbass.

I would take Dale Brown 2.0 any day. We lost because the best player in the country (Hield) hit just about everything he threw up in the second half. It was a great game. I wish the outcome would have been different but that was an exciting game
I wish I had this attitude, but unfortunately I'm a competitor and not a casual fan. I've coached and see too many deficiencies in JJ.

I am sure the shots taken away from LSU made no difference in this game.

Ridiculous. Quarterman runs directly to referee banging fingers. No difference in time. Look, JJ was clueless when a TO could've meant at least a tie. Period.

JJ coaches the players to play fast and loose. I don't think that this is the main problem. I think the main problem is that there is a clear lack of killer instinct on this team. When Heild starts draining 3's we need to be able to answer.
One player that has really disappointed me this year is Hornsby. He is supposed to be the big senior leader out there who can make the clutch shots.

This was the first LSU game I've watched this year.
Their offense is poor. All they do is run a horns set over and over with very little movement.

True, should have won this game. But

Simmons didn't want it at the end. You can tell when a player isn't working hard enough to get open. But he is just a freshman.
The youth excuse DOES NOT work in basketball.

Instead, they chose to play for overtime, against a team that had all of the momentum and was kicking our asses the final 10 minutes of the game. I don't know if that was JJ or TQ himself, but IMO it was absolutely the wrong call.

I wonder how many other coaches win that game if they step in at the 5:00 minute mark?
Posted on 1/30/16 at 6:57 pm to BasilBogomil
Tough loss. I was thinking after Blakeney hit the 3 and it was tied that the #1 team doesn't deserve to win if they miss two front ends in the final minute. I thought we had some good mojo going. Then the dagger.
OU is really fortunate after missing those free throws.

You do realize once the ball was inbounded jones couldn't call the timeout, right? Quarterman would've have to stop and then call the timeout, wasting more time.
Correct.
Even if Jones could call a time out it could not have gotten us a better shot then Quarterman did on his own.
Quarterman got the ball to within 3 feet of the basket, and got mugged. Quarterman is our best go to player when he decides to play.
Note: Blakeney is slowly getting better and better.

Wish Ben Simmons would step up.... He doesn't want it at the end. Play the paint, make players foul him and we win this game.

How are we deserving of making the big tournament??
Losses to WF, Marq, Florida, NC St, COFC, Houston, A&M and now OU says otherwise.
The only quality wins are Kentucky and maybe Vandy?? Should've beaten OU, Marq, COFC, Houston and NC St, but should've doesn't get you into the Big Dance.
this... all of it... we don't have many quality wins, with not many chances on the horizon.... combine that with our bad losses, as indicated above, and you have the formula for the NIT, not the Big Dance....

Ben Simmons has to want it at the end, but he is passive having watched him some now. He is real young and will learn that he is the star and has to take it upon himself to want it and be great like this kid Hield did for OU. Hield isn't as talented as Simmons no matter how much his Momma rants(LOL), but the kid has worked hard to become great.

Finish top 4 in the SEC, then all you gotta do is win 3 in a row to get in.
Time for this team buckle down and focus on winning the SEC. Still in great shape to finish towards the top of the conference.

Also, Quarterman you are 6'6"! Dunk the damn ball. You can't go in there like you are Josh Gray. The lay up king. If you don't get the dunk you at least go to the FT line from having forced a foul call.
