LSU 29.7% from 3. Not good
Opponents 41.2%. Very good
Doing some math that gives teams a 9-10 point advantage per game vs LSU due to 3 point shooting.
I’d rather not start every game down 9-10 points theoretically.
Have to get better here.

LSU has good shooters. But they are off to a bit of an inconsistent start from the outside, and are taking too many threes, in my opinion. And guys who aren't great shooters, like Taylor, are taking shots that they really have no business taking.
This was one of my slight concerns coming into the year. There are so many capable players, which is excellent, but you have to wonder how they spread the "love", and how well they play team basketball, as opposed to individual ball.
I'm not saying that this is a selfish team. I don't think it is at all. But a lot of guys are trying to assert themselves and are pushing a little too hard, at times, IMO. I think that will calm down and guys will settle into roles. When they do, they'll be even more fun to watch.

We have played three or four teams with excellent shooters. They lost.

LSU has played some pretty good teams, but no one worthy of the Top 30.
If LSU can get by Charleston then FSU will be first real test of the year.
I think FSU wins that game based on what I’ve seen.

This LSU team reminds me of all those one & done Kentucky teams. What we're seeing now is pretty good, but what we'll see later in the season will be really good.

It's college basketball. We had an off night and still won.
Need a guy that can sit at the 3 point line...holy hell.
Daryl Edwards can shoot it.
Tremont Waters can shoot it.
Skylar Mays can shoot it.
Javonte Smart can shoot it.
Naz Reid can shoot it.
Please refrain from posting if you haven't watched the previous 3 games.

I Agree with you. No real knock down shooters. But we have a few guys that are average. Hopefully we’re able to just ride the hot hand. I think Mays or Days will be our best bet most nights

Edwards is the best catch and shoot guy from 3. He’s just trying to get his minutes up and get going.
I think our best offensive set is what we did late in Tech game. Space the floor and let Tremont drive and either dish or score at the basket.
I love watching Duke because their spacing offensively is excellent. Guys are almost always open for spot up 3’s.

UNC Greensboro made the tourney last year and only lost to Gonzaga by 4 points. They shot 57% from 3 against LSU, made 19 3s and shot 56% overall, but LSU still won by 6. I think that was a good test because UNC Greensboro has a lot of veterans on the team.

You haven’t watched before have you

We’d have lost last night without Edwards. Him, Smart, and Williams were our energy.

3pt shooting will not be a consistent problem with this team... It's just the nature of basketball to have some off nights from 3.. same at the FT line

I'm really surprised they aren't shooting well from 3 at home. Last year this was a decent 3 point shooting team and guys like Waters, Mays and Edwards have shown they can knock them down. Reid and Days have nice shots and Taylor reminds me of Blakeny with just how high he gets up on his jump shot.
I think they will eventually come around. Too many good shooters not to.

Seems like you predicted the whole season and how it ends by watching one game. Bold move, enjoy the downvotes!

Yea they look much more structured. Our offense just seems so chaotic most of the time. Waters looks more & more like bo Spencer to me. He needs to chill with the hero ball & facilitate more. He can create open shots but he’s 50/50 on whether he makes the pass or tries some crazy shot.

It really does sound like the La Tech game is the only one you watched. First, give credit to La Tech. They played very scrappy on defense and on the offensive and defensive boards. Next, thank heavens we don't have to depend on having one shooter. This team can score! First time in a while I could say that about an LSU BB team. The team goes a quality 9 deep and any of them can have the "hot hand" in any game. This team will keep getting better too. I ain't predicting a Final Four, but at the same time, they are capable. Can't wait for the tournament next week to see how they fare. We'll know more for sure.
