If you wear Tennessee gear be prepared to be cursed out, have piss balloons thrown at you and be offered/involved-in at least three fights. You can probably draw these conclusions from others on here.
You will also eat the best food you've ever had and drink more than you thought you could.

I’m not a fighter and people can say whatever they want to me all in good fun. It doesn’t bother me but I might turn into a fighter real quick if someone throws a piss balloon at me lol

The piss balloons is an old tigerdroppings joke. Don’t worry about it!

People will give you a little shite for being a Vols fan, but most will be in good fun.

I can tell you of three really great tailgates where they will take care of as a Tennessee fan. First is one off Nicholson in between Skip Bertman and The Box adjacent to the Tabasco Lot named The Gregness. They have been there for as long as I can remember and are a great group. There should be other Tennessee fans who will join us. Second is Krewe de Pirates which sets up a large tailgate at the Design Building and third is Cajun Tiger Tailgating which has a setup across from the Indian Mounds in the parking lot across from Victory Hill. All would welcome you with open arms.

As far as what to do Friday night and Saturday morning, I’ll have to defer to what some of the others suggested.

I have been going to LSU games for decades and I have yet to see these mysterious balloons

I will tell you though, the student section will chant STTDB

As they should! Lol. I’ve actually never heard of piss balloons at LSU but have heard from Vol fans experiencing that in Gainesville.

We are staying at an Embassy on constitution Avenue. Looks to be about a ten minute drive to the stadium. I planned to Uber over closer to campus the morning of the game.

And yes, I hope you guys start hot. The schedule sets up well going into this one. We should at least have only one loss or be undefeated. I stopped expecting a win against Florida regardless the circumstances so who knows what we’ll be doing the week before in that one.

Not sure if you knew this but almost all visiting teams stay at Crown Plaza or right across I-10 at the Mariott. Both are very close to your hotel if you want to go cheer them on arriving or leaving the hotel (We LSU fans love this kinda shite. )

Also, There's a great local sports bar for Friday evening and Saturday after the game called Ivar's. It will be very busy that weekend a with a laid back mixed crowd from 21-60 yrs. It's a very short Uber ride from your hotel.

Friday…go to Drago’s that is close to your hotel. Ruth’s Chris is great but you can get it in a lot of places.

There will be a tim3 line of activities posted here a couple days before the game. You’ll want o be in your seats 30 min before kickoff.

It hasn’t been that long since I’ve lived in BR, I’d recommend maybe you go a parrain’s on Perkins, it’s not far away from where you’ll be staying. The area has a few bars for Friday night if you would rather something closer than downtown.

Hang out, get a room and eat in Scotlandville. You'll thank me later!

Seriously, don't do that but book your room now in the LSU vicinity. If you can get a room at Lod Cook, you'll be right on campus. Plenty of great food within walking distance. And our tailgates will feed you until it bleeds from ears. You will enjoy, I guarantee.

I should also mention food. I want to experience all the good food I see and hear about at these tailgates!

I definitely recommend Chimes, but on Friday. It will be a lot easier to get in.

If you want breakfast before you hit campus or on Sunday morning, consider Coffee Call if you like beignets or Ruby Slipper. I haven’t been to the one in BR, but the ones in NOLA are fantastic for breakfast or brunch.

You are going to be tempted to go to restaurants next door to your hotel (Ruth's Chris or Dragos) Friday night, I wouldn't. Drago's is like Louisiana Chiles to me and Ruth's Chris has great steak but it's just a steak chain.....

Get in an uber and go to Mansur's on the Blvd. It will be about a 2min drive and is Baton Rouge's best restaurant imo. $$$ though..

I know everyone in here is contradicting each other but don't go to Dragos. Food is only okay and atmosphere is like a Ruby Tuesday. He mentioned it bc you can walk there from your hotel.

Spend the extra 2 minutes and go to Mansur's on corporate Blvd for some of the best food BR has. Or go to Juban's on Perkins, Bistro Byronz on government.

Honestly there is something for everybody so it kind of depends on what you like, your age, etc.

For bars alone we could recommend rage/party, live music, pub type, hipster, upscale..

If you describe what you want out of your Friday evening i can send you to the right place. Spend all 16 waking hours Saturday on or around campus.
