I thought he'd be good, but I don't see how anyone could've imagined he'd be this good. Guy is breaking off 200 yard games and making it look EASY.

I thought he'd be a 1100-1200 yard back as a freshman, and he was damn near close (had we ran him more against ND, we win that game).

This year, I had predicted him to break the LSU single season rushing yardage and single season rushing TD records with 1700 yards and 21 TDs on 230 carries. That was for 13 games though.

I definitely didn't expect him to be killing guys and averaging an insane 8.64 ypc. Even my wildest predictions only had him at 7.6 ypc. He hasn't even played a cupcake yet.

If he averages 120 yards and 1.5 TDs over the next 9 games (bowl included), he'll match my offseason predictions damn near close.

Heisman rests on how he fares in the Alabama and Ole Miss games.

Just go back to watch his 100m run in his junior year!
With that size and speed, it was only a matter of time.
Phew!

Pleasantly surprised that he is this good. Thought he'd be above average but he's phenomenal.

He far surpassed my expectations this year. Last year he was a good back. Even very good for a freshman, but not great. He never seemed able to beat that last guy that he needed to beat. Not nearly Jeremy Hill level. I expected him to be as good or a little better than Hill by next year. I didn't believe it when Cam said LF was the most improved player this year. If he keeps this up, he's certainly Herschel Walker/Bo Jackson level. Definitely wasn't expecting that this year.

ETA: And I definitely expected Les to spread the ball around more. I didn't think LF would get nearly the carries he deserved. But obviously Les is a smart man.

Being studs and being THIS good are not the same...I mean look at what LF is doing. He is being mentioned with all time greats. Not in my wildest dreams did I think he would be this good. He is leaps and bounds better than he was last year.

I did believe he would be this good, but not until his junior year. I thought this year he would break LSU single season records, and then next year, break SEC rushing records by going over 2000 yards on the way to an undefeated season and national championship run.

I expected him to have a Herschel Walker impact with LSU. Expected it and have been saying similar on here for a long time while people on the SEC rant and Tiger rant called me out for it.

The only thing i got wrong was how fast he would hit that status. I thought junior year for sure. He could be the catalyst to take LSU all the way this year. I believe now, that he'll be the player who just finds a way for LSU to win regardless of how the game is looking late. Put the team on his back.

SFP and Lester...

so I am out of line for saying I think Hill, who has the 2nd highest YPC in a season in SEC history, is possibly better than LF. A guy who was a top 5 NFL RB as a rookie!

But you're not crazy for crowning LF GOAT after getting 75% of his yards vs a putrid Auburn Def and Syracuse?

Is that how we are going to play this? And to think you always pretend to be level headed.

Like I said, I dont want to make this a me vs Leonard Fournette. I think he is awesome and could very well be the best back LSU has ever had. What he has done thru 3 games is truly amazing, But C'mon, lets see what he can do vs the meat of our SEC schedule.

After last year, I thought he would be great, but not elite.

He met my expectation from recruiting, and exceeded my prediction for this yer.

Jeremy Hill is the best back Miles ever had, and no, it's not crazy. What's crazy is issuing a declarative statement like that when one of your points of comparison is still only a sophomore in college and calling people who dare to disagree retards. I'm not saying you did that yourself, but it was out there.

I mean, I realize SFP also thought Keiland Williams was Walter Payton and all, but damn

also its crazy what HS hype can do, being on the radar since he was a freshman.

Jeremy Hill was a highly touted recruit, but not nearly as well known. Had he came in with LF's hype, people wouldnt laugh when someone calls him the best RB in LSU history. But alas, he is a forgotten man outside of some people that know what they witnessed when he was here.

people laugh but Keiland came into LSU with pretty much the same type of talent LF has. And its not like he was a huge bust. He left LSU with a 5.7 YPC. Miles loved him some Hester and Charles Scott.

I have not read this entire thread, so I will just say that I thought he would be good enough to be a top ten pick in the NFL draft when he is eligible. But he is looking like a potential #1 selection, something that prognosticators said was a thing of the past concerning running backs.

I love watching LSU football, but he is an extra incentive, as there is the anticipation of him doing something freakish. The Heisman narrative currently is Fournette.....and others. Good times, my friends, good times.

Jeremy Hill was great. Jeremy Hill was not mauling people and making them look foolish like LF. LF is on another level no matter the competition. The entire country agrees with this message.

No...many folks knew Fournette was a generational-type player coming in.

Again, im not talking about the hype. Im talking about the actual player's talent. Measure them up, and they were very similar players coming out.

had he played his SR year in LA and not had to go to prep school, he would have been huge. Because even as a JR he was picking up huge steam. He was a top 3 RB nationally and prob would have been #1 had he played his SR year of HS.

He was a huge coup for us, the biggest RB get since Kevin Faulk up until Leonard, and there have been some good ones. And for good reason. He was 215 at the time and ran a 4.4 Was a bonafide stud who was under utilized at LSU. When he played, all he did was produce.

I only bring up Williams as a means of pointing out that everyone has their favorites on the roster. Not bashing him as a talent or a prospect in any way.

It doesn't make you a retard for having high hopes for Fournette. He was the most hyped prospect to commit to LSU since Faulk.

Im not going to call anyone an idiot for that. My main point is, he may be better than Jeremy Hill by the end of the year, but im not going to judge it off of these 3 games.
