Has LSU ever been this excited and supportive of a punter? I think it's fricking awesome.

He is a Freshman! Damn what a nice weapon to have for the next few years! Kid is a game changer! He may win the Ray Guy award 4 years in a row!

It's a lock. Too much swag.
If 'swag" is a criteria, he wins going away.

Brad Wing
I talked with his dad last night and he told me he has not taught Brad everything he needs to know.
So guess what...There is room for improvement
He will only get better now that his family is in town and he has a great support system!

The best punter I've seen since Danny White

Brad has about half the punts as many of the others. I guess that is a combination of playing 2 less games than most and that some of the other punters play for bad offenses. His average is still right in there and he has a couple of games left.
As much as I admire Brad's work, I would rather see the kickoff team working more. That means we are scoring points instead of getting stopped.
The La. Tech dude looks good as well. Wonder how we overlooked him?

He transferred to Tech from Oregon State.

I can't imagine a punter doing any better job than wing this year.

We have won a couple of games because of our punter. I've never seen a punter have as big of an impact on wins/losses as Ryan Allen.
I think he has 35 punts downed inside the 20 and 17 of those were inside the 10. He pretty much guarantees the other team will have bad field position regardless of where we are punting from. He's a phenom.

Houston's Leone has some good numbers, but averages about 3 punts a game. Oregon's Rice is also has nice stats. Wing would need to up his net average a yard or 2 IMO. However, there are several stats like rushing yards or percent inside 10 that need to be considered and if so Wing is most deserving.

Allen and Wing's numbers pretty much mirror each others. The only difference is Allen has twice as many punts and twice as many fair catches. It doesn't mention that Allen leads the nation in punts downed inside the 20 and punts downed inside the 10. I think that gives Allen the advantage.

Bump: Wing is not a finalist.
I find that ridiculous.
