well, really, all of our opinions are irrelevant to what happens on the field.
But this is a message board, you know.

Well, 260lb'ers don't get carries for a reason. I don't know why you think this is normal

I'm not going to go over the list of 245lb+ backs that have been dominating runners in the NFL, and I'm certainly not saying that Mouton is going to be one of those back, but stating that 260lb backs wont at least get goal line and short yardage carries is not backed up by any statistical facts out there.
Unless the guy moves like a tree, which it appears Mouton moves much better than, he can conceivably carry the ball in short yardage\goal line runs, if the coaching staff decided to try that. They may, they may not, but it certainly isn't some mythical\imaginary statement to say they could use Mouton like that.

Name all the dominating 255lb runners in the NFL.
You have might high hopes for someone that has never carried the ball before

Brandon Jacobs
Marion Butts
Natrone Means
John Riggins( more like 240-245lbs)

I forgot guys like Craig Heyward, and Jamal Lewis as well, so that is a list of 14 guys total, and I know there are more, I just cant think of any off the top of my head. I'm sure some other people out there remember some other guys too.

he needs to keep his feet moving
I don't think he really knew what he was doing as a lead blocker last year. Got in the way a lot.

Maybe Brandon Jacobs was the only converted tight end, I cant answer that question 100% accurately.
I do know that Mouton was a TE\FB in HIGH SCHOOL football, so he played both TE and FB, but you cant compare a 16-17yr old kid who has played multiple positions to someone who has to make a position change once they are already playing college ball.
Everybody who played high school ball probably switched positions several times over their 4 years there. The point being that having played a different position in high school football doesn't at all mean you cant make a position change once you get to college. At that point the coaches can evaluate whose skills best fit what positions.
It's safe to say that they have already done that with Mouton since he is now a sophomore, and turned him into a full time FB.

Really! We have the first back in the history of football who can't be stopped?
