You have entirely missed the point. If a RB fumbles the ball on the goal line going for the winning touchdown and costs his team the game, should the QB after the game say, "well, I did my job, I was great, but Johnson screwed up and cost us the game; it's all his fault because he just sucks and can't hold onto the ball"? Would it matter at all that it is true? Of course not. It reflects poorly on the player's attitude and leadership to try and shift blame from himself to other individual players. Period.

it was still a terrible pass and a dumb throw
It was a pass right into the hands of a WR for 1st down yardage. There is absolutely nothing dumb or bad about that throw.

This is like people blaming Flynn for that INT vs. Auburn that LaFell did the volleyball tip on.

Jarrett Lee needed to transfer - I am not going to restrain myself from booing him any longer. I just hope he doesn't get on the field.

Once again you prove yourself to be a huge douche.

also for the people that say oh well brandon lafell had catches... thats because lee would lock into lafell almost every play and was incapable of checking off his number one target.

Is there any question why JL would lock onto Lafell every play, as opposed to, say Byrd? In reality, I think he locked onto Dickson more than Lafell, but that's not really what's being discussed here.

Even when Byrd had a good ball thrown his way he dropped it. You could clearly see he was disinterested on the field all last season.

Despite mixed feelings about D.Byrd's final season at LSU, he has a place in my heart for this..

The Catch...

No hard feelings toward DB. It's just out-of-place for him to criticize the QB's in a public forum.

I wish him the best. Part of all this is that DB needs to mature as well.

If I were DB, I'd be saying the same damn thing.

I see a bunch of you saying this and it is total bullshite. Lafell was option #1 on EVERY play? Go piss on someone else's leg and tell them it's raining.

Auburn's Gabe McKenzie (24 yards), Florida's Brandon Spikes (52 yards), Georgia's Darryl Gamble (40 yards), Georgia's Darryl Gamble (53 yards), Tulane's Travis Burks (43 yards), and Alabama's Reshad Johnson (54 yards), and Troy's Tyrone Wiggins (32 yards).

The QB's deserved it. Byrd and the other receivers were patient all year & the pick sixes cost him possibly millions. Look at Lafell's face when Bama get's the OT pick. His expression sums it up!

I'm not going to try to pretend the QB play last year was stellar, but some of you people seem to forget that football is the ultimate team sport. You refer to the look on Lafell's face on the OT pick, but go back and look at that play again ... how much effort did Lafell make to ENSURE that NO ONE caught that ball? How many times have you heard that on some passes the receiver needs to turn into a DB? Everyone has a role on the team on every play. If the QB makes a bad pass, the receiver's job is to make sure no one catches it if he cannot. Plenty of blame to be shared without throwing the QB under the bus.

This statement just proves how stupid some of our fans are. Unfrickingreal.

I guess NFL coaches and scouts aren't as smart as our fans. They don't factor in QB play when evaluating WRs? I wonder if they factor in immaturity and poor leadership.

maybe the dyslexic little smurf needs to worry about running the right routes and actually catching balls thrown to him.

in fairness to Byrd, he did say in the interview that he was wrong in letting it affect his attitude. But he knew going into the year that the QB position would struggle some, so there's really no reason to put this directly on the QB's. I remember during multiple games thinking that he seemed to have a hard time getting open, perhaps he wasn't as much of a surprise to defenses last year.

His stock status was always going to rise and fall on workouts, regardless of the number of catches he had last fall.

On what advice he’s received from his agent regarding the draft...
“Mostly just to show more character and more maturity. They were saying that I wasn’t mature during the season. I was getting frustrated a lot. HE just wants me to meet with them and show them that I have good character.”

This is a quote from DB at the LSU Pro Day, his agent knows what his problem is.

Why? Because of his lack of effort in tackling the guy who made the interception?

Maybe he should watch some Michael Clayton film and see what hustle and determination can mean to a team.
