not really...

just depends on team needs and other players from other teams stepping up

getting 6 players drafting in the 1st round would be absurd

its possible, but not likely, and that doesn't mean the players themselves didn't live up to hype or didn't anything negative

Just to do the math here, barring injury I think lf and ja are locks...and all mocks agree.

So basically you are saying none of the following will go first round:

Dupree
Beckwith
White
Pocic
Neal
Godcheaux
Dural
Lacourte

Not saying last two are first round material but I'm not saying they won't improve either.

Maybe you are right. I just don't agree with 2 or 3.

There's already six on that list with no White or Beckwith.

Can't see Lewis Neal being a 1st rounder though

Pretty much every player though is at a position that normally are hot commodities to go first round, except rb and pocic at center...but I don't think many doubt lf will be 1st round and pocic moving to tackle, and able to play center, makes him more valuable.

I'm not trying to be negative, it's just the way things go every year. Plenty of first round talent guys fall to the 2nd and 3rd round each year. A lot of it depends on how deep of a class there is next year.

Also, as fans we tend to place a higher value on LSU guys. 3 guys going in the first round would be a great achievement for those guys. All of them going in the first 3 rounds would be fantastic.

Keep in mind that there are only 32 first round picks and over 100 major programs to draft guys from.

I think Neal is a wildcard with tremendous upside, but can he improve upon this past year?

Also....I'm sure there will be some player in spring training that is all world. Ha. Jk

6 first rounders is ridiculous. It won't happen. Alabama hasn't even done that.

It doesn't matter how they play during the year. It's all about potential and upside and the needs of the nfl teams.

The draft is a crap shoot. Productive guys fall because they had a bad combine or they don't play a high demand position.

Draft order is based largely on team need, and certain positions are over/under valued. This leads to great running backs falling to later rounds, and OT's rising up.

So even assuming all of those guys have a great season, I still wouldn't expect more than 2-3 to go first round.

Watch for Clemson and Ohio State this year. Clemson has 3 guys on defense that are locks to go in the 1st. Ohio State has 5 guys that are on pretty much all the mocks out.

I'm well aware of how many go in first round. This is a special group. There were some this year that would likely have gone first...but came back....and pocic had round 2 grade. Also...Dupree is an athletic freak who will explode with a decent passing game and should excel at combine. Also, I'm pretty sure the mocks aren't made up of LSU favoritism.

We just can agree to disagree.

mocks over a year away are also pretty much useless

Al Woods anyone? Ciron Black?

Well the publication putting out this mock does have 2 Clemson and 2 Ohio st. ..and this is one of the most resoected, and they have 6 tigers of the LSU variety....not including white and beck....but I'll say this...even if they don't all go first....I'd say there is great chance to have 8 in first and second. That's pretty damn strong.

That's fair. Just keep in mind that "special" players like Jarvis Landry, Kevin Minter, and Jeremy Hill weren't selected in the first round.

All of these guys were regarded every bit as highly as those mentioned in the OP.

It's not a slight on them or what they have accomplished. It's a simple numbers game, and there are only 32 first round draft picks. Teams don't always pick the best player on the board, but try and fill a specific need. Sometimes there is just a guy better than you at your position. That doesn't mean you aren't a fantastic prospect too.

OK, you win....lf and Adams go in second...Dupree, white, pocic, and beck in the third, and Neal and godcheaux and dural go in the fourth....and lacourte in fifth...with a flyer on Jefferson and bowers in the 7th. Better?

Hill is no fournette...Landry didn't have near the measurables as Dupree....minter was solid but never heard he had a shot at first.

That would be pretty awesome... But what would be more awesome is with ALL this so-called 1st round talent that we win the NC next year... This team could be scary good next year... Just need tings to fall into place....

Not at all...I think barring injury, we have minimum 8 guys go first and second...and my opinion is at least 5 go first with real shot at 6. Either way its a good bump thread. Hell we may have someone blow up this year that's not even mentioned.
