I'm pretty sure that the majority of LP's problems came after he was in the NFL. I think he got into a fight with his Ex-Girlfriend and was suspended for a couple of games in college.

That's nothing compared to Collins' college issues. Hell, he was kicked off of LSU's team.

Like I said, Collins' issues were much worse. But, you can go ahead believing that they weren't if you want.

I agree, I saw him. It's Sloflo who is trying to downplay Cecil Collins.

Cecil was talented enough to play 3 games & a few carries, got very serious 1st round consideration & got drafted in the 5th Round because of behavior problems.

Correct. Maurice Clarrett was so good and all that. He played a whole season in college and wasn't good enough. Didn't he get cut.

Hell yes. John Elway in my humble opinion.

naw

the "pulling his gf down the stairs by her hair" incident was while he was at NU

no

he thought she was fricking another NU player, went to where she was at, and she didn't want ot leave. to he forced her out of the house, which involved dragging her down the stairs by her hair

NU covered up a lot of his other frickups

Maybe he got off easy because the hair wasn't hers.

No question about it.

It just sheds light onto what kind of knowledge he has. Don't try to change his mind. Let him stand on the opinion that Charles Scott is better than Cecil Collins.

I've shared this with 3 people already and they've all thought it was funny.

ok then i submit this:

No need to convince me. I already know Charles Scott is an outstanding back. I'll sing his praises in front of anyone.

I just think that Collins was a better back, and I see no need to put down Scott to prove that point.

I honestly hope that Scott surpasses ALL other LSU running backs in our history. That's how much I like the kid. But if you ask me if he's "better" than Cecil Collins in his prime, I say... currently... no.

It's kinda sad really. Funny he called Whitworth a reach, now he makes 30 Million. Similiar to his claim Joe Addai was 2nd or 3rd round at best.

Slowfro is dead on this time. You might argue that Collins had more potential or more God given ability, but part of being the best back is being present and eligible to play and being able to play more than 2 games.

That's like saying Perriloux is a better QB than Flynn. He may have more athletic talent, but he couldn't keep himself in line enough to even stay on the team.

At no time has this ever happened.

The argument has nothing to do with eligibility (correct me if I'm wrong Slow). The basis of the argument is to compare Cecil in his prime at LSU and Charles Scott now.

You missed the premise as stated by the original poster:

If Charles Scott never took another snap at LSU or any other Div 1A school, would there be talk of him going in the 1st round? Would he be drafted in the 5th right now?

Charles Scott is a very talented RB, but Cecil Collins was a once in a lifetime type RB.

Salmen shut him down but it took all 11 guys to bring him down. He must of averaged 50yds a return on kick offs.

Nope. Barry Sanders never had a hole to run through. Never. Earl Campbell did most of his work on his own. This clip we are talking about does show a big hole AND Cecil gets caught from behind.

By the way, if Cecil ran a 4.41, what does CS run?

Yes but they still stuffed him. Don't know if u remember, but no one even came close to holding him in check. His senior stats were sick. He took Leesville to the Dome on his own.
