There’s tons of posters here talking about how Saban coming back to the HC at LSU etc etc
But my theory of him simply helping with negotiations with Kiffin is the more stupid theory?
Okay I guess.

"So you got a team like Indiana … who really never, traditionally, anybody looked at as a great job. And like Ole Miss, you know, Lane’s been really successful at Ole Miss, but how could you make the argument that LSU or Florida or any of those schools are better than Ole Miss based on the support that he has and how they’ve been able to manage things internally with all these external factors?" Saban asked.
"So I think everybody needs to be very careful about how they evaluate their opportunity," Saban said per On3, regarding Kiffin and other coaches considering a new school.

Here is two alternative thoughts on this
1. Flying Dalton to Bama to get his stuff over there packed and whatever he needs to do to get things finalized there then back to BR to get to work for LSU
Or
2. A name on the coaching list I have not seen but just a name to throw out, the Bama OC, Ryan Grubb. He has done well wherever he goes and has been AHC at Fresno State, Washington and now Bama. Turned that offense in Washington into a beast, and has Bama humming and has Simpson on the heisman list

Realistic option honestly.

I know it’s not the sexy option but seems more plausible than going to speak to coaches in my opinion

Could be just a private charter shuttling rich folk to Tuscaloosa.

This isn't really a Saban thing, is it?
I would think it's more about Ryan Grubb maybe?

Yes, Saban negotiating on Kiffins behalf is borderline retarded

highly doubt the agent would go for that

Agree it's fun speculation. Thanks for sharing!

Grubb is not interviewing with LSU the day before he coaches against us.

Last I checked LSU is playing in Tuscaloosa this weekend. Sorry to ruin the fun, but nothing suspicious about this

You do realize that most, if not all, of the coaching interviews will be done by Zoom? The plane will only be used when its a done deal.

that happens all the time, and if they emphatically deny they're gooing anywhere or have any interest in any other job... they gone

he Bama OC, Ryan Grubb
Has one partial season (2025) SEC experience. Not a good fit for LSU.

I’ve been on Gary’s jet. It’s a very nice plane and he’s a super great guy who loves LSU sports.
