You know Democrats voted for Trump in mass numbers and that’s why he’s president, right? Just because you are a registered Democrat as a voter doesn’t mean you align with the lunatic party platform.

I’m sure the good people of Ohio are not going to vote for a wacko socialist.

He also compromised with the NBA, and stood and prayed during the anthem from then on.

Look, I likely don't share any political or religious beliefs with the man. But his beliefs are as personal as any of ours. He has said he doesn't criticize anyone who stands for the anthem. His children appear to adore him. He's never done anything criminal that I know of. And he looked truly grateful of LSU for honoring him today.

There are far worse people in this country to get bothered by.

If only he were as reasonable as his critics.

Saw him after the game, security saying no autos or pictures. He still took pictures and signed for people. I was 7 in 1989 the last time I saw him and told him it took 30 years to finally meet him. He was truly humbled and genuine. He’s religious and political beliefs may not coincide with mine but that doesn’t change him as a person or player.

The men and women who died for it were defending the CONSTITUTION of the United States. Doing 4th of July, do you get upset when you see people draping themselves with the flag, wearing clothing of the flag? Well, let me tell ya, they are DISRESPECTING the flag, but yet no one says a damn thing.

You wouldn't have Chris Jackson over for dinner? Would you have his name was abdul-rauf? Why not?

I'm not a fan of Muslims and I'm especially not a fan of Muslims who are anti United States

Now don't get me wrong. This doesn't mean I hold any animosity for him. It just means I don't want to chill over a beer with him. I realize this is a foreign concept to the left but it's actually quite typical. you don't have to hate somebody to not want to be buddies with him

And of course. That was a long time ago. I've no idea what he thinks today

What does this have to do with the national anthem?

His handler was a very nice woman, too. She was taking pictures for people with their phones, etc; a lot of people in positions like those are assholes.

Kap is a attention whore. I find it laughable that he continues to shite on the country that has enabled him to make millions. Has he done any meaningful thing other than kneel in protest? Has he gone into low income neighborhoods and invested time with underprivileged children, or invested some of his money to further education? Maybe he has and I just haven't heard about it To me he is just a racist who hates white people. I have zero respect for him.

Totally get this. However, I'd have no issue having a beer with him. He seems like a good dude who'd have really good stories...from LSU to Europe.

That said, religion and politics would likely be off limits, as in most conversations anyway.

He’s done all that and more and doesn’t publicize it.

Ah I see and did anyone try to stop him or take said money and funnel back to government coffers? I mean did the bad white elitist come in and stop him from doing these kind acts?

To be fair, it's more accurate to say I wouldn't have wanted a beer with him back then.

People change. I've really no concept of who he is in 2020.

Still. I doubt he's exactly in my conversation wheelhouse
