Daniel is (still) in A league. Has he been hurt or was he maybe over rated as a Tiger. Many here on the Rant said he was MLB material.
Ummmmmm. No he’s not. MiLB.com is your friend.
On July 1st he was moved back to Erie (AA). He actually has (edit: 50% more) at bats with Erie than he’s had with West Michigan (A+) this year.
The Detroit website still lists him at #19 of their Top 30 prospects for making the Tigers lineup. Says he has “a lot to learn about batting”. Apparently he’s learning because his stats overall aren’t that bad when it comes to hitting. Looks like it’s his SO they are working on maybe??

Detroit wants to push him because his biological clock is ticking. He’s old for single A but has just not hit AA pitching like a 2nd Rd pick should.
This board does not like to acknowledge minor league mortality but his prospect flame looks to be burning out

These idiots throw around” Greatness “likes it going out of style. Many many many better Tigers have never sniffed the show.
Hang on... We were "idiots" for saying he had MLB potential, when an MLB team thought enough of him to draft him in the second round? We're idiots for thinking that a kid who hit .315 with eight home runs and 54 RBI as a freshman, while the bats were still dead in college baseball, was MLB material? And you've already given up on him?
You sound like you don't actually know much of anything about baseball.

What’s the point of crapping on a kid who played at LSU and never did anything to reflect badly on the school?

Thanks guys for all the info, replies. I know any little negativity on the Rant will get responses. I was just wondering if he had any injury's to slow the process. Just thought he should be farther along than he is. Thanks for the leg work.

Did you happen to have a brain injury that made you this dumb?

This kind of crap isn't called for.

You right. We should coddle the idiots so they have safe spaces to spread their stupidity. We certainly shouldn't call them on it for risk of hurting their feelings.

You're having a fit over someone who obviously isn't familiar with baseball, and how long it takes, or how hard it is, to get to the big leagues. I get these kinds of questions from people I know personally, who I know for a fact are not idiots. They just don't know much about a given subject, and that's why they ask the question.
Your attitude about it would be more appropriate if someone were on here saying "This dude is a joke. What a clown and a bust." I could see you calling him an idiot, then.
Instead, you are throwing insults around at people just because they don't follow sports as closely as you or I do. But I don't expect you to see the difference. You're too busy being aggressively arrogant, all of the time.

I wish we didn't waste his talent on those shitty Paul teams. Cabrera would have been a monster at DH in that 2017 lineup if he was on campus one year earlier. He clocked 12 homers in 2019. He would have smashed homers with the juiced balls of 2022.

Between OP and Lester we might be able to make one normal human

I wish Cabrera would have pitched more. Also, I don't think he was developed enough to leave college yet, so it takes some time to get over the hump if he ever does. This is the pitch from Jay Johnson - come here to develop, stay here, etc so I can make your path to pro ball quicker and easier no matter how old you are or where you get drafted. It's not a new pitch, but NIL changes the value and perception of that pitch at a baseball rich school like LSU. Former LSU players and baseball boosters have been itching to spend money to put a good powerhouse on the field. The arms race is not just facilities anymore.

Sadly I don’t think he would’ve been anymore developed if he stuck around one more year. We weren’t doing a real good job making hitters better at that time.
Maybe MAYBE Eddie Smith gets his hands on him for another year and the switch flips.

I don't disagree. I guess the point still stands that he's still in a development period, and the clock is ticking.
