I've been saying that I really thought our problem has been missed tackling and injury... seeing the actual numbers alleviates some concern for sure.

Now do a scoring defense comparison.

Isn’t like we’ve played offensive juggernauts.
You’re right. The teams that we have played that aren’t “offensive juggernauts” (which is 3 teams because Texas actually does have a good offense) has scored a total of 41 points on us and 14 of that was in garbage time when the game was way out of hand. So that’s 27 points by 3 teams. That’s an average of 9 points per game.

And you are spot on.
Ignore RB10 and Not Cooper, they'll "skew" your thoughts.

I haven't said the defense is fine once.
You’re arguing with anyone who says, or you think says, the defense is struggling. It’s not hard to infer what you’re saying.
Here’s the thing, I agree with you. The complaints about the defense are out of control. The offense is putting up a ton of points and doing it quickly, they’re holding the ball for less than 28 minutes per game and the defense is dealing with a ton of injuries. This Puts the defense in a tough spot, and the poor execution by the players is just making it worse. It will be cleaned up, but the “dominant” defense that so many people here convinced themselves that they had was a pipe dream.
The issue is you’re not bothering to read the posts, you’re taking the first opportunity you see to start flinging shite at anyone. I’m an argumentative person, but you’re literally arguing with people who agree with you. Even I don’t do that. You probably need a little break from this place.

Remove the Ga So game and we are giving up 394 YPG on 5.33 yards per play. That includes NW St. Texas got 48 yards/possession. We have two cupcakes skewing our stats and the numbers still don't look good.
This is telling and half of our fan base just doesn’t like what it’s saying. I agree that many of the issues with the defense ARE fixable, but they are also real, legit issues. They have also tended to be fixed sooner under Aranda in the past. This bye week will hopefully be the turning point.
I understand some of you are salty and are trying to explain away the defensive numbers because of the new offense. The thing is, the D doesn’t need to be 2011 caliber this year to get the job done. However, they have to be better than 2013. So far, they aren’t and that has to change for this team to reach its potential.

My argument is that the defense is not as bad as they are being made out to be, which he agrees with. You’re the one arguing that they’re worse because of plays run.
How dense are you?

Missed tackles.
Add missed assignments to that. Vandy’s big opening run came because Queen read the play incorrectly and played the wrong gap. This was a huge problem in the first half vs NWSU, as well.

Dude, frick off. You're trying to make a point by removing GASO stats because it skews numbers then you don't want to take out other games that skew numbers - then you ask him to stop arguing with you. Are you a girl? Why can't you just say "I'm wrong and you're right" and move on.

Last year we averaged 21.8PPG allowed compared to 23.2PPG allowed so far this year.
After 4 games last year, we were averaging 14.75PPG allowed , but we didn't play a team like Texas, nor did we score 14 points for the other team. Taking out the points scored by our offense, we're giving up 19.75 PPG currently.
I think an additional 5 PPG allowed when you have a road game at a great Texas in place of a neutral site game against a overrated Miami is somewhat expected.

bullshite. My very first post in this thread said they need to get better.

You literally started a thread to say the defense isn’t bad because of the offense. It’s on the first page.

, our defense is performing as well as it has in the past statistically.
The defense gave up 24 points to Vandy, and that's with several starters out, including our 2 best dlinemen. If they play that game with those starters in you can wipe at least 14 points off the board. People don't understand the full implication of having starters out. But according to this graph this defense is playing the best since 2011, something many felt that it is the best D LSU has had since then. Once this d gets healthy and we get further into the season, they will perform much better. LSU lost a lot of depth over the summer. Ed Alexander leaving hurts, so does Joseph. Ed I understand, Joseph I don't get. I think Aranda would love to go man with all 5 receivers an offense puts on the field, just not enough cover corners. But Flott will get there by the last few games of the reg season and Jones may get there as well.

My point of this isn't to demonstrate that our defense is better than previous years, because I don't think that they've played better as of yet.

Do you think this makes it difficult to see you don’t think the defense is as bad as many are saying? You clearly don’t.
I’m trying to say you’re right for not panicking and YOU’RE STILL ARGUING WITH ME.
Seriously dude. Time for a break.

I literally did NOT say they are worse because of plays run. I said they are worse because of missed assignments and missed tackles.
