re: Did Landry fire BK just so he could fire Woodward?

his initial contract fyi, was strong but it was agreed by all at tamu. Jimbo was highly sought after. Even LSU wanted him.
It’s simple to get in message boards and spread lies, half truths and otherwise mislead people. Takes no courage.
Telling the truth when it doesn’t always go with the flow takes courage. You don’t have it

The crisis has been festering. Landry didn't create
Oh yeah he did. Little Landry came in, publically told lies about Woodward to create the crisis and the rationale for running him off.
Little Landry knew what he was doing - or maybe he didn’t. Either way, moronic and petty.

Except, Tate was really bought in and good at this president thing. He was a casualty of war, which is unfortunate.

We differ.
Woodward was NOT a crisis. Little Landry had a beef with him from the past and wanted revenge.
That’s why he publically shamed him and lied about him. He created that crisis.
I don't know if Landry got it rolling with BK just so he could go after Woodward. That being said, this is not the first time Landry has fricked someone over to satisfy his fragile ego. The entire reason that Garrett Graves no longer has a job in politics is from being fricked over as revenge for Graves not backing Landry in the election.

Scott Woodward, LSU’s Director of Athletics, ultimately made the decision to fire Brian Kelly as head football coach. This was announced in an official LSU Athletics statement on October 26, 2025, where Woodward directly communicated the separation effective immediately, citing unmet high expectations after a 49-25 loss to Texas A&M that left the Tigers at 5-3. Reports from ESPN, CBS Sports, and The Athletic confirm Woodward’s role in the move.

Little Landry is a very petty, vengeful lil man. He relishes retribution for small things and he’s a panican.
He and woody had a beef from over 20 years ago and lil Landry made sure to get him back and he did.

I know how it went down. Woodward fired him and that sparked a loud verbal exchange between he and Kelly.
The Governor wanted the political credit for firing him and shut Woodward out of a meeting at the mansion. It was small and vindictive and total theater.

Blaming this on Landry is an oversimplification.
It’s truly bottom barrel thinking.
So is thinking he was going to hire the new coach.

in the two most important sports, Woodward failed hugely in both coaching hires.
Even if Woodward needed to go, Landry should not have been so public about it. The BoS would still have done his dirty work. And he definitely should not have ranted about agents and coaching contracts when LSU is in the market for a coach.
So let me get this straight, you people bitching about Scotty being fired last week, actually wanted him to begin the new coaching search, sending out offers and starting negotiations for BK's replacement when he has had two abysmal failures at picking a target for football coach? Give him another shot at screwing the pooch?
Could LSU's new AD and BOS have succeeded at reversing course and picking another candidate after giving Scotty time to set things in motion for BK's replacement?
How much of a lame duck was Scotty before the firing? Could he have fricked up the new hire for us had he been left in place?

Did not “Woody” endorse sodomy?

So was his equally crazy extension. That doesn’t mean the AD that handled those contracts is off the hook just bc ‘it was agreed by all’.

Woo dry didn’t do the extension
His initial deal with Jimbo’s was strong because that’s what the market demanded for a big dog like Jimbo was at the time.
And if woody had done that deal without proper approval or with deception then he should be blamed but he didn’t. He was given the mandate to go out and get the top guy. He did that. Tamu was making a strong move to rise to the top. Woody can and will make that happen.
He was given strong direction at LSU to hire the best. His first choice didn’t work out so he got one of the most qualified coaches anyone could find. Kelly. Monday morning quarterback all we want but Kelly was the top guy available and woody made it happen. The pay was market pay.
Sometimes things don’t work out on the football front and they aren’t always for reasons we understand. Behind the scenes things happen. It’s a hotbed of ego’s who stir the pot for their own purpose. Boosters, coaches, admin, and now governors get their little hands on the mix.
And here we are

Who is else responsible for creating the circus from the past week? Things were going along smoothly until Tuesday until sub 85 IQ Governor decided to go on the warpath embarrassing himself but more importantly LSU and the the state in the process.
An absolute unhinged buffoon

I agree with you that I wish it would have been quieter, but this was going to be a loud mess no matter what. If Landry wouldn’t have said anything…….the local media would have blown this out of the water anyway. You have to remember that the overwhelming majority of the local media is liberal as frick

No it’s not.
Woody and Kelly’s relationship had become strained. It’s woody’s job to fire the AD (with support from the board which should have support from president and governor). He went to do that but Little Landry wanted that credit so he made a spectacle of it. And then went to embarrass woody as though woody acted alone in hiring Kelly, agreeing to some sort of outrageous contract and generally being an idiot…. Woody is NOT an idiot.
Little Landry just has a long tail beef with him and wanted to publically Shame him.
Little Landry is a petty and vindictive little man.

Since you've elected to use pejorative terms, I'll play along.

So let's interpret that: Fat Scott did Little Landry wrong years ago and got what was coming to him - even if it took decades.

Well thats tells us all we need to know about you
The FB program was on a decline similar to Coach Os last 2 years, and not seen since pre-Saban
But things were so smooth that boosters and fans were demanding the HC, OC, and DL coaches heads, with the DC and AD on deck. Cant get much smoother than that

It’s insanely stupid to fire Kelly from a financial standpoint. It could set us back years financially.
