Like others have mentioned. I don't think Borne said that line on games there were seen as "night games"...even though at kickoff, like this past Saturday, it was still daylight.
He said that line when the sun would set late in the game after a 2:30 start. With the current ESPN contract it's possible LSU may not have another 2:30 start for a while.

Dixon did fine and he will get better. He is a great announcer and has been getting ready for this for years.

I was there and had the unique perspective of sitting in SEZ for 1.5 quarters and East Suites for the remainder of game. He sounded fine from both places in TS.
There is no way in hell anyone can say he was objectively terrible. They either have a problem with Dixon or an unhealthy loyalty to Dan .

McMakin did “Here come your fighting tigers of LSUUUUUU.”
Borne’ was way better at both.

I recall the greatness of Sid Crocker as PA guy. Then Dan Borné came along and was solid as well.
So McMakin has a ways to go and we’ll see if he can show improvement once he has a few years experience.
