Whether or not Miles should still be the HC doesn't matter at this point. What does matter is that you don't fire a coach like Miles and replace him with O, period.
I'm not an Orgeron hater and I hope he succeeds. But you don't fire someone with the resume and record Miles had and replace him with what O brings to the table.
Aleva should have been shite canned the day O signed that contract.

Haven't you proven that, short of death, it is impossible to be silenced on this site?

What about Charlie Mac since you’re living in yesterday? Move on man. What’s done is done.
I did not have a “Help Mac Pack” shirt. I opposed the idea.
Then I thought we were getting Bo Rein and was pumped. Then tragedy struck and we got an LSU homeboy. Then four years of ups and downs. An Orange bowl loss and a couple of losing seasons.
I was opposed to firing Les. Then I thought we were getting Jimbo and I was pumped. Then a much lesser tragedy struck and we got an LSU homeboy.
History repeating itself???

He was winning ~9 games a year

frick yeah, I'd rather have Miles. It was time for Les and LSU to go separate ways. But most people expected Alleva and LSU to act like the professionals that they're supposed to be and actually do a competent search for Miles replacement.
Instead, Alleva got his feelings hurt by his first two choices, stuck his fricking head in the sand and hired o.
What a fricking mistake.

how many wins per year did miles have at LSU?
114 wins is just over 11 years. So an average of 10 a year. Granted it slowed down a tad, but his average for his last 4 full seasons (since his last SEC Championship season) was still 9 games a year.
That's what o got last year. And that was against one of the weakest schedules an LSU team has faced in a long time.
It was time to part ways with Miles, but not for a coach of o's caliber.
