Apparently so based on revenue percentages. Cut MBB ridiculous share. Baseball and WBB should get more than MBB.

Yes they care, but you need CASH to win these days....MBB is not priority at lots of schools these days.

Favorite part of the rant and lsu opinion lacks realistic coaching replacement options. Beard may be the option.

Several layers to this - When we say does LSU care - who are we talking about? The athletic department? The LSU administration? The fans? All 3?
Secondly, do "they" care. Care is relative and can be understood a few different ways. And the different factions above may care at different levels and to different degrees.
The worst thing that can happen to a program is ambivalence and for certain with the fans that has set in here, The number of fans who care enough to be angry is pretty low right now and when that happens the administration may not have as much urgency in caring for the program when there aren't as many folks with pitchforks out in the public.

This is only true because LSU has not put anything into the program in decades. Start with a top end coach, follow with great recruiting, and then replace the PMAC. And of course we have to have NIL commitment in this day and age. LSU sold out the PMAC throughout the 70’s and 80’s. And in years when we had players like Rudy Macklin, Hi C Carter, Ethan Martin, Chris Jackson, Shaq etc. So the fanbase will come out. But 1-7 in the SEC doesn’t excite anyone year after year. If Indiana can go from worst to first in football, LSU can do the same in basketball. Just like we did after Skip came to baseball. CKM to WBB after the disaster that preceded her. And having a National champion womens gymnastics and a consistent national contender. LSU fan support will be there.

Crowds did not come out for Wade unless it was a big conference game LSU is a meh basketball fanbase
1) You're wrong
2) Half his tenure was during Covid
3) I just looked at his last year and they had 9,700 show up for a 12-10 Ole Miss team that was during the Xavier Pinson injury stretch

I think the new administration is going to show us in a month that it does.
I can understand how some are unconvinced. I believe Woodward really thought McMahon was a good coach. He was a hot name then. But it was pretty clear after last season that he’s overmatched as major CBB coach, and Woodward should have cut losses. Injecting additional NIL was a nice effort, but even the add money is paltry in comparison to what needs to be spent to compete consistently within the conference. Not a Woodward fan, but I honestly don’t believe he was ok with the basketball losing because it turns a profit. He just made two big decisions related to MBB, and both turned out to be colossal failures. And he doubled-down this season and now won’t have a third chance to fix it. Thank God.
The bigger question to me is will the DONORS show that LSU cares about basketball. If they don’t step up like they have for football then we’ll know where to place our expectations.

ticket sales for MBB brought in more revenues than ticket sales for WBB.
How is that? Tickets cost more for MBB?

I hope you are right. It’s way more fun when our MBB is relevant.

Of course they are in general. I don't know this for a fact, just an educated guess, but I bet a lot of the lesbo basketball tickets are given away for free to schools, youth groups etc...
Just a guess on my part, could be wrong.
