The kid probably had more pressure on him than I've ever seen. The relief to get that first TD just overwhelmed him for a sec. He's prolly been dreamin for this moment since middle school. Miles handled it and gave the TD to KH when he made the later run down to the 2. IMO miles was teaching LF a lesson. Normally he wud have given any RB at least 1 shot to get the score after they make a big play tht falls short of a TD imo.

Geez, with all his athletic talents, he's still a 18-19 year old kid. Kid.

He got caught up in the moment, did the pose and he got an earful from Miles.

He's humble and knows it's not all about him.

I highly doubt he'll do it again.

They said the same stuff when PP did it in the West Virginia game, and he got an earful from Miles also.

Drop it already. (Not directed to you OP)

because he did the same thing, yes at a more proven point in his career, but a heisman pose is a heisman pose

You can't even compare the two. Pat was in his third year playing a good West Virginia game having an awesome night! It was dumb of Fournette to do that when he hadn't shown much of anything to warrant that kind of attention.

Only Leonard Fournette could make a game against Sam Houston State memorable

The pose was no big deal. It was just a kid having fun with all the hype around him. People take shite way too seriously.

He wasn't out there showing up SHSU. Just playing up the crowd.

Exactly.

People are being way too dramatic about things that don't matter.

Who cares? Americans are such babies when it comes to sportsmanship and the like. Don't want him to pose, don't let him score.

Maybe if he played for FSU, had raped a couple of girls, and was caught stealing that would show more character.

Anyone ever entertain the thought that he did this sarcastically?

Not even close. Patrick Peterson absolutely did not strike a Heisman pose after scoring a grand total of one career TD and it coming in the first quarter against an FBS team that we were already beating by 2 TDs.

The pose is not the issue -- the timing is the problem. And the problem isn't that he's acting like a showoff or anything; it's that clearly -- in his own mind -- this was his "moment". I don't think it's a big deal, but it is not encouraging that a kid with his amount of talent thinks of a 4 yard TD run in the first quarter against a team like Sam Houston as his "moment." I would hope that his dreams would have been filled with moments like a breaking a game-winning 60 yard TD run against Florida, or a momentum changing 100 yard KO return to turn the tide on the Tide.

Any one of ESPN's haters who can't let something as silly as this go by tomorrow morning is seriously pathetic.

At least this will teach Leonard that there is going to be a huge spotlight on him and it will only get bigger as he gets better.

So...it was dumb of some fans talking about how many Heismans he would win or comparing him to AP before he ever played a snap of collegiate football. Get over it. What's done is done, Coach Miles handled it and it's a dead issue. Why won't you guys let it die. Should be excited about him scoring his first TD, yet we're talking about this.

I think all of those things and more will happen with Fournette over the next 2-3 years. People will look back on this and chuckle in a few weeks.

The old expression "making mountains out of molehills" comes to mind regarding this, or even much ado about nothing.

ESPN & other blowhards need to move past this.

20-25 years ago everyone said a ton about this when Desmond Howard did it . . . and he did it after a punt return for a TD against Notre Dame.

The spotlight was always on him before this happened.

He has played into the hype and set ridiculous expectations for himself on record. He's dangerously teetering on the line between confident and cocky.

Not sure about that. But, even if it were playful fun he's got to understand what kind of target he just put on himself. The world loves to hate, and he just became a lightening rod. No matter what his reasoning, he just became someone to bash.

When PP did it, he was a legitimately mentioned as a Heisman contender. L.F. was in his second game vs Sam Houston. People will make a BFD out of it.
