I LOVE (seriously LOVE) Thursday Night Football and the way it "gets the football weekend going"!!

However, I wouldn't like it for Tiger Stadium though, except, maybe, once every ten to fifteen years for a game that might work (Vanderbilt, La Tech, etc.).

As for away games for LSU on Thursday. Not bad. The MSU game in '07 was pretty cool. One of the best parts was tailgating, watching the game, then being home for Saturday to watch all the good televised games!

Sooooo.... Thursday night football is great for everyone else except LSU at home!!

What does anyone think about the home game being in the Superdome? No campus disruption.

I think its a fantastic idea, RedlandsTiger. Well done!!

I'm not talking about losing an Auburn-LSU Saturday or a Tennessee-LSU Saturday, but maybe, once every 5-8 years, we do a Thursday night "home game" in the Superdome for something like Vanderbilt or Kentucky or some OOC foe that otherwise (if Saturday) would not be televised.

I'd have my hotel in Vieux Carre for the whole weekend.

I was thinking the same thing, but how do the other schools do it?

Other schools don't do it like LSU, it is simply not the circus at other places like it is at LSU.

The deal will end the SEC’s affiliation with Raycom Sports, which has aired basketball since 1986 and SEC football since 1992.

Does this mean that we can forget about the dreaded 11:30 games?

South Carolina, Vandy, Stanford, Colorado and Oregon State all host Thursday night games in the first four weeks of this year.

Williams-Brice Stadium (South Carolina) is not located on campus. It's several miles away at the state fair grounds.

From LSUsports.net article...."ESPN Regional Television (ERT): The nation’s largest syndicator of collegiate sports programming, becomes the official over-the-air syndication home for the SEC and will feature a game-of-the-week package (generally at 12:30 p.m. ET), with a minimum of 13 games each season throughout the SEC footprint and beyond."

11:30 games will remain, just a different provider.
