I would absolutely love to see the melt down on this board. I remember one of his coaches at the previous college was saying he was definitely an NFL type talent.

First of all he did start at Purdue. Second he started at LSU.

I bet you thought he wouldn’t get drafted. It’s ok to just be wrong.

The rant seems to love to just ignore that things can change over time.

I don't know man. I won't put it past the guy. I bagged on him when he was here and times got frustrating but I know going to sht on his future like our fans do all of our ex-players.

You do realize Belichick has had 43 year old backups on his roster before?! Don’t overthink this. Etling will be lucky to make the practice squad...

That wasn't even close to today's Bama. Louisiana Tech beat Bama that year.

I doubt he makes the roster. He will be on the practice squad

How many of them were pegged as the next big thing? How is Etling any different from them?
You answered your own question. Etling isn't being pegged as "the next big thing". That, for starters, makes him different from them.

Etling will have a few years learning from Brady and Belichick, two of the greatest masterminds ever in football

He'd better learn as much as he can before he gets cut so that he can get into coaching.

Not hating on the because he's tough as nails but he doesn't have the quickness (release) to make it in the NFL.

Ole Bells has lost it, drafting a RB in the first round and then picking DE.

He's going to battle even for a spot on the practice squad. The Patriots only carried two QBs on the roster last season. Their current backup, Brian Hoyer, is a vet with a lot of experience and has played under Bellicheck for 3 years previously. He's also playing for pretty cheap this year with a base salary under $1 million.

IMO, they needed a RB too. They needed a QB but there really weren't any good QBs left worth top round money to them that would have been any better an option than what they currently have as a backup in Hoyer. I doubt Bellicheck wanted a guy like Lamar Jackson for his system

It will be great if he makes the team.

He's been working on his mechanics with Brady's coach.
If he got better, maybe he beats out Hoyer.

I’d say best he could hope for is a Luke McCown type career. But hey, that’s nothing to scoff at.

I will suck your dick if Etling is a star. If he’s not you give me $20

ETA: The $20 is not for a BJ, it’s for you losing the bet
