Why would he hate athletics so much when he played college basketball?

Id wager it would have much less impact on enrollment than cancelling academics. C'mon now. It's still a college.
Link me to where someone offered the idea of cancelling academics to better support athletics. Then your statement would be relevant.

What's sad is you dont see how stupid you sound.

“fricking imbecile”
Lsu Athletics gives roughly $10 million dollars per year back to the university. And it makes far more than $16 million dollars per year.

The grants in the veterinary school alone per year are almost double
Mark Emmert understood that a successful football team at a school like Lsu is extremely beneficial for the university. The university of Alabama has seen a rise in its academic profile that correlated directly with the success of its football team.
It’s sad there are short-sighted morons like you that can’t see the big picture. It’s even more sad that one of yall is the most powerful individual on campus.

Fail
You’re definitely an expert in that realm.

Actually imbecile it revenues about 147 million per year. After operating budget it MAKES...16
fricking ignorant morons dont even know basic numbers

I agree. Football is important. Basketball not so much.
Thanks for making the point.
Fail found 2... wanna go for 3?
ETA: So either way 16 million is nothing compared to the academic side

The fricking president of Bama is on record as saying Saban is the best investment the university has ever made.

Their cut of the TV contract is more than that.

He’s talking about profit. :lol

F King was a poly sci major. That tells you all you need to know.

He’s pencil pushing academic that sees athletics as a distraction from the true mission of the university.
He’s not wrong though. Academics IS the reason for college, not sports. Sports was supposed to be just extracurricular activities. Of course when money got involved, the dynamic changed but still, college is about higher education, not being a minor league for professional sports.
I’m not defending F King with this. I think he’s an idiot. I’m just pointing out that technically he is correct in his belief that college should be about academics.
In a perfect world, we should be cheering for and passionate about our “mathletes” and “science olympiads”. Those are the skills that should be praised and not “who can chunk a ball” skills.
But it is what it is and our society praises athletes more than intellectuals.

Since you want to attempt to be stupid and argue semantics, youre still wrong. Money made is revenue. Expenses taken from money made is profit.
Secondly, Lsu chooses to use the money it makes to reinvest in itself, thereby increasing expenses and decreasing profit. If morons like you and fking had control over the budget, Lsu would be sitting on a large pile of money and completely falling apart.
I also noticed you chose to ignore the point about athletics cutting a multi-million dollar check every year back to academics, to help make up for the constant budget shortfalls this money making machine you’re touting has over and over. How much money does academics send to athletics?

I agree. Football is important. Basketball not so much.
You said “athletics” which encompasses all sports. You’re wrong, again. Don’t try to crawfish and be a bitch about it now.

Tee another one up. I’m sure you’re desperate for a moral victory at this point.

Let’s ignore the stupidity of your numbers for a minute, because they don’t really matter.
Lsu athletics signed an agreement to give at least $35 million to the university over 5 years. Why did they money making machine in academics need that agreement? How much did the money making academics machine give back to athletics?

Lol.
Try again, but remember that athletics is a PART of the University and not the parent entity.

Liberal pussies that always got picked last. Sports and competition go back to the beginning of civilization. It will always be a good thing.
Posted on 3/10/19 at 3:20 pm to Soup Sammich
Yep didn’t they bring him in to heighten the admission standards or being the numbers up or something, that I get but you can’t get in the way of what is one of the most self sufficient, profitable athletic programs out there

Well if HRC was elected we’d have way bigger calamity going down in 2019 than FKA
